Wang Kan
Born in June 1965 in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, doctor, professor. In 1993, he graduated from the Department of energy and power engineering, Xi'an Jiaotong University, majoring in reactor engineering and safety. Since October 1993, he has been teaching in the Department of Engineering Physics of Tsinghua University. From 1998 to early 2000, he has been a guest associate researcher in the engineering systems research center and the Department of nuclear engineering of the University of California, Berkeley. At present, he is deputy director of the Department of Engineering Physics, deputy director of the academic committee of the Department, and deputy director of the teaching and research section of nuclear energy utilization (Institute of nuclear energy science and Engineering Management (Preparatory)). Since studying for postgraduate, I have been engaged in the research and teaching of nuclear energy science and engineering. Since 1994, he has been responsible for the teaching of the first class course "reactor physics" in Tsinghua University. Now he is responsible for the key construction project "principles of nuclear engineering" of the undergraduate excellent course, and participates in the construction project "advanced reactor physics" of the postgraduate excellent course. The main research directions are the research of numerical calculation method and program development of reactor physics, the analysis and research of advanced and new concept nuclear reactor, and the research of nuclear fuel cycle and fuel management. At present, he is responsible for or technically responsible for the conceptual design of thorium based advanced heavy water nuclear power system, the research of long-life new concept nuclear reactor, the construction of research platform for nuclear energy discipline of engineering and physics department, and other international cooperation and 985 and 211 projects.
