Bai Xuexian, formerly known as Chen Shuliang, was born in Guangzhou in 1928. She has studied at Ling Ying secondary school and St. Paul's English secondary school in Hong Kong. Her father is Bai Ju Rong, a famous Cantonese Opera actor known as Xiao Sheng Wang. She loved Cantonese Opera when she was a child. When she was 13 years old, she was taught by Xue juexian, a famous Cantonese Opera actress, and her stage name was Bai Xuexian (the name came from Bai Xuexian's elder sister - she passed the theater one day, when a cartoon [snow white] was on. That's how she got her inspiration. In addition, Xue juexian also gave her a stage name, changing her original name from "Chen Shuliang" to "Chen shuniang", and performed in "juexian Sheng Cantonese Opera Troupe". Later, she studied singing with musician Xian Ganzhi. During the period of the fall of Hong Kong, she once sang in the singing world in order to make a living. During that time, she also participated in the performance of "new East Asian Cantonese opera company".

At the age of 16, she became the official of the "Jin Tian Hua Cantonese Opera Troupe". Then he joined the new sound troupe and began to cooperate with Ren Jianhui, a famous Cantonese Opera actor. She has starred in such famous dramas as little love and a dream of Red Mansions. Since then, she has also participated in "five blessings" and "good luck" Cantonese opera troupes, starring in "red and white peony" and "love of Mount Fuji". In 1956, she and Ren Jianhui formed the famous "xianfengming Troupe" to perform such famous dramas as "imperial flower", "Purple hairpin", "rebirth of red plum", "Peony Pavilion dream" and "new legend of white snake".

She is famous for her unruly plays in the early stage, but she is good at tragedies in the later stage. She and Ren Jianhui are recognized as the best partners. Because of her health, she began to make films in 1947. Her first film starring in "new sound" was "my wife in the morning, my sister in the evening" (47). From 1947 to 1968, she starred in and participated in about 200 films, including more than 110. Most of her business cards are adapted from her famous Cantonese opera, such as "red and white peony" (May 2), "love on Mount Fuji" (May 4), "Purple hairpin" (May 9), "imperial flower" (May 9), etc.

In 1967, she formed the xianfengming film company and produced the largest production of Cantonese opera, Li Houzhu (June 8), and then quit the film industry. However, she and Ren Jianhui continue to support their successors, such as long Jiansheng and Mei Xueshi's "young Fengming Opera Troupe", to help them become a famous and unprecedented longevity troupe of Cantonese opera. She retired from the stage with Ren Jianhui in 1969.

She is very serious and devoted in acting, and is willing to innovate and cultivate the younger generation of Cantonese opera. Her contribution to Cantonese Opera is very great. Ren Bai

Xianfengming Troupe

Founded in 1956 by Ren Jianhui and Bai Xuexian, and invited Liang Xibo and Liang Xingbo to serve as martial arts students and ugly students, Tang Disheng was also invited to write xianfengming. Unfortunately, Tang Disheng died when the eighth performance of xianfengming was staged. Young Fengming Troupe

Founded in 1963 by Ren Jianhui and Bai Xuexian. In 1959, more than 800 young actresses were recruited for the public examination. After several times of elimination, 22 of them were left. During the training, they were taught by famous Peking Opera masters Zhang Shuxian and Mrs. sun Yangnong, famous director Wang Keng and famous musician Yu Yu.
