Character evaluation
Wang Ying's in-depth exploration of human nature and delicate expression of emotion are somewhat similar to Ang Lee in style. He has a warm directing style (Sina entertainment review). He seems to be very refined with Chinese culture. He speaks fluent Mandarin. He is more sensitive than most people and is willing to listen to women. Most of his films are about women's resistance and rebellion in different times. Wang Ying is very tall. She is calm, persistent, modest and self-confident. She laughs more brightly, and she is not good at expressing herself. The oriental cultural spirit embodied in his films is not only the composition of his film aesthetic feeling, but also his strategy in the American film environment (film art review).
