Mei Qi
Mei Qi (1923-1966), formerly known as Jiang Duanyi, was born in Beijing from Nanhai, Guangdong Province. Her grandfather was Jiang KongYin, a famous Cantonese Opera writer in early Hong Kong, and her father was a member of Parliament during the period of the Republic of China. Mei Qi has a variety of roles, both good and evil, and her image is changeable. She can perform well as a maid, a socialite, an ignorant girl and a murderer. She can be called the first person in Cantonese movies. In 23 years, he has performed more than 70 films.
Acting experience
When he was six years old, he guest starred in "smart fool". In 1937, he took part in the first film "the rest of a hundred battles" (1937). After he finished "Nezha split the mountain to save his mother" in 1960, he worked as a Christian missionary and traveled between Hong Kong and Taiwan until he died of tongue cancer in 1966. He was 43 years old. Mei Qi, who has also participated in Cantonese opera, is a versatile actor. During the Anti Japanese War, he performed with famous actor Ma Shi in Guangxi Taiping opera company. In 1956, Ren Jianhui and Bai Xuexian set up the xianfengming troupe to perform Tang Disheng's dream of Red Mansions for the first time. Mei Qi guest starred as Xue Baochai, becoming her only performance on the Hong Kong Cantonese opera stage. Mei Qi has also made several Cantonese opera singing films, one of which is her farewell work Nezha splitting the mountain to save her mother (1960).
Personal life
When I was young in Shanghai, I was brought to the church by my Christian mother. Although Mei Qi was successful in her acting career at a very young age, she often lamented the emptiness of her soul and attempted suicide twice in 1939. In 1941, on the eve of the Japanese occupation of Hong Kong, she suddenly married movie star Zhang Ying. The "playful" marriage lasted only more than three years. According to Wang Tianlin, Mei Qi was raped by the Japanese during the Japanese occupation of Hong Kong. After they surrendered in Japan, they also declared their divorce. After that, Mei Qi married a rich family child in Shanghai. In 1949, their family fled from Shanghai to Hong Kong. In 1957, Mei Qi divorced for the second time. Mei Qi suffered two marriage failures, and as an actress, she was older (in her 30s) and faced the pressure of survival in the performing arts industry. She was in poor health. By the end of 1957, she was in critical condition because she was suffering from a serious gastric ulcer. At this time, another artist ziluolian (Zou Jielian) continued to preach the gospel to her, asking her to believe in Jesus. Mei Qi faced the crisis of life and death, and decided to believe in Jesus and repent. Soon after her recovery, Mei Qi began to witness eagerly in the various chapels in Kowloon, Hong Kong, causing quite a stir. At the same time, she participated in the "Peiling College" sponsored by the Chinese Missionary Association, and enthusiastically pursued the Bible Search. On September 21, 1959, Mei Qi suddenly decided to take this opportunity to end her past career when she was shooting the scene of throwing herself into the sea in the drama Nezha splitting the mountain to save her mother. Soon after she came up from the sea, she officially announced that she would leave the film world. Mei Qi, who used to be Mei Qi, was "dead" and would be specialized in preaching in the future, causing a great sensation. After leaving the film world, Mei Qi was busy witnessing everywhere and gradually felt that she needed to strengthen her ability. In May 1961, she followed the advice of a spiritual priest and prayed for many days. In July, she claimed to have experienced the fullness of the Holy Spirit and the dialect of the tongue. Once, in a church in Hong Kong, a foreign elder spiritual missionary pointed to Mei Qi and prophesied on the platform, saying that God had made her a prophet of the times. After that, she believed that she was the "great prophet of the East" that God used in the last days. When she preached everywhere, she accused the mainstream churches of not believing in grace as a great sin and began to prophesy. The next year, Mei Qi prayed in the secret room for more than 200 days, and wrote a collection of life sermons, claiming to get enlightenment from God and preach "the complete truth of blood, water and Holy Spirit" in the last days. It is believed that all the sects have deviated from the truth: the new theology denies the cross and does not accept the precious blood; the fundamentalists, though they uphold the correct salvation, deny the spiritual grace and resist the Holy Spirit; while the spiritual grace sect preaches the precious blood and the Holy Spirit, the church organization is a kind of sect organization, ignoring that the purpose of the spiritual baptism is to establish the truth (water) of the New Testament Church. Therefore, there is no pure truth in all sects, only the blood, water and Holy Spirit that she receives is the perfect truth. In July 1963, Mei Qi founded the New Testament Church in Hong Kong, which is also the first independent Church originated in Hong Kong in history. She believes that the New Testament church she founded is the only true church inspired by the Holy Spirit, which is the original Orthodox Church in the early days of the New Testament. Therefore, she encourages other Christians to "tear down and pull out" and break away from the church. After that, Mei Qi went to Singapore and Malaysia to attract a group of believers who were dissatisfied with her original sect. She broke away from the original sect and established 11 churches in Penang, Shuangxi Danian, Taiping, Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. Among them, Singapore, Penang and Kuala Lumpur have more people. In 1964, Meiqi predicted that there would be a great revival in the whole earth in 1966, the belief of the New Testament Church would spread widely, and the flow of the Holy Spirit would flow from the New Testament Church established by God at sunrise (East) to sunset (West). In the early 1960s, Taiwan's local churches (often referred to as meeting houses) were divided. At the end of 1965, Mei Qi went to Taiwan to preach, attracted many believers who left the local churches, and established more than 30 New Testament churches. The most famous one was Hong Elijah (Hong III), who came from Tainan. He was highly valued by Mei Qi and transferred to Taipei to lead Taiwan The largest New Testament Church, named Elijah, is expected to be as powerful as Elijah, the great prophet of the Old Testament. Mei Qi's teaching aroused strong criticism from many religious sects at that time, pointing out that she demolished and split the church, and some even accused her of being "full of evil spirits".
