From Xiao Ba Lu to journey to the West and then to a pig falling from the sky, Fang runnan has been thinking and exploring how to organically combine Chinese traditional culture with animation to create animation images with national characteristics and add luster to national culture. To this end, he has been sticking to the front line of animation creation, tireless, conscientious, 40 years of work, even before his death, he is most concerned about the continued creation of art animation. Director's puppet film the thief

"The great robber" (1-8 episodes) is adapted from the fairy tale of the same name by autefrit Presler in Germany. It is written by Ouyang Yuping and Hu Zhaohong, directed by Fang runnan, Liu Huiyi, Xia Bingjun, Cheng Zhongyue and Hu Zhaohong, designed by Liu zedai, Xie Hongbin and sun Daheng, and photographed by Qiao Yuanzheng, Zhu Dingyuan, Chen Zengfu and Hu Zhaohong. It was filmed in 1990 with 8 episodes and 24 copies in total. The film describes the magic story of the great thief hojan ProZ's reform. The characters in the film are exaggerated, especially the inner activities of the characters. Action funny, humorous, is a strong film to see. Among them, the song lyrics "I'm a big thief, I'm not afraid of anything, I'm so comfortable in life, I laugh all day long" by the big thief huozhen ProZ has been talked about by many people. "The robber" describes the famous robber hojan ProZ robbing Caspar and granny tribel's singing coffee grinder. "Porcelain doll" is written by Hu Kangrong and Fang runnan, directed by Fang runnan, and photographed by Cai normal. It was finished in December 1982. The film depicts a girl sculpting a fox and a lovely porcelain doll. The fox was jealous of him and lured him to play in the wild. In the wind and rain, the mud doll ran into the dustbin and was bullied by the garbage. Fortunately, the girl picked up the clay doll, painted it again, and made a more beautiful and lovely porcelain doll. This is a puppet and human synthesis of the film. All kinds of porcelain carvings in porcelain doll are made of Kaolin from Jingdezhen, the world-famous porcelain capital, and painted with high-temperature color glaze. Sometimes one action needs to make several, and the main character's porcelain dolls make 192 different postures. The director and the actors use the method of "set cutting" and "substitution" to shoot all kinds of actions on the same porcelain carving, and use the montage technique of the film, so that the porcelain doll without joints can not only move, stand, walk, act and dance, but also sing and dance. This is a new exploration in the history of Chinese art film.

ZT: Journey to the west makes the world know Chinese animation again

In 1996, Fang runnan was transferred to CCTV as the chief director of 52 episodes of large-scale cartoon journey to the West. This ancient Chinese story of four Tang monks and disciples who went through hardships to learn from the West has already achieved high ratings since it was broadcast in the form of TV series in 1986. The animated version of journey to the West also caused a sensation. This is the first fully digital animation independently produced by China, which is a milestone in the history of Chinese animation.

At that time, Fang runnan set three goals for this work: first, to bring out a group of creators to experience the Chinese animation production team.
