Li zhixia (1898-1938) was born in Paitou village, Guanling Township, Fuding County, Fujian Province. In the spring of 1935, he took part in the revolutionary struggle. He successively served as a soldier of the workers' and peasants' Red Guards in Guanling Township and a Red Army guerrilla in Dingtai district. He took part in the agrarian revolutionary struggle and the guerrilla war against "encirclement and suppression" in xiadingtai (Xiapu, FUDING, Taishun, Zhejiang Province) revolutionary base. At the beginning of 1936, he joined the Chinese workers' and peasants' Red Army as a soldier and took part in the three-year guerrilla war in the eastern Fujian and southern Zhejiang Soviet areas. After the outbreak of the Anti Japanese War, he was incorporated into the fifth regiment of the third detachment of the New Fourth Army in early 1938 and went north to resist Japan. In March of the same year, he died when he was on duty in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province.
