Yip Zenker, born in 1949, is a film director, screenwriter and actor in Taiwan, China. Born in Chiayi, Taiwan.

He graduated from the film editing and Directing Department of the world journalism College (now Shixin University) in 1977.
In 1980, he obtained a master's degree in film science from Columbia University. In the same year, he returned to Taiwan as a lecturer in the world journalism college and the University of culture.
In 1981, he directed the TV series "happy single girl" (also known as "11 women").
In 1982, he became famous for his film "the story of time: Jumping Frog". The film skillfully alleges the absurdity and fallacy in modern life, which leads to the leapfrog lifestyle of young people. It's the beginning of a new movie in Taiwan.
In 1986, he directed "we all grew up like this" and "our sky" to explore the characteristics of young people growing up in a modern environment.
He directed the TV series "last summer" in 1988. (also known as "Grandma's summer vacation"). He has directed the short films "lost forest" and "water is unique", and won the golden harvest award of the fourth experimental film in Taiwan for 16 mm long film and short film respectively. He has starred in the movies ah Hei 1983, Taipei Story 1985, last trainto Tan Shui 1986, soul1986, little master 1987 and so on.
In 1991, he directed "baby" and won the 28th Taiwan Golden Horse Award and excellent work award. The first feature film directed by him is children with swords, starring Zhang Aijia.
His son is Taiwan actor Colin.
