Character evaluation
No matter in front of the camera or behind the camera, song Fang always gives in modestly. She has no goal and purpose. She neither wants to conquer the audience nor make money. Instead, she tells her own story in a real and wonderful way, so the audience can see the sincere and pure emotion in the film. The movie "memory looks at me" has a strong author style. Almost all of it is completed in a unit dormitory. Only two cameras in the car can see the outside city through the window. Moreover, her meditation on aging and death conveys rich emotions through her sensitive eyes. The film is a pleasant experience and song Fang's reliable first step as a director (Michelle Fudong, French film critic and former editor in chief of film notes, Jia Zhangke, Sina entertainment review).
