Character experience
Hong jingling loved acting when he was young. He often played with his friends at his home. When he joined the civilized opera team, he was strongly opposed by his family. But under his insistence, he finally got what he wanted.
Among the movie stars in China, Hong jingling is the oldest and the most experienced villain actor. In 1908, Hong jingling began to engage in New Drama (civilized drama). After the rise of plate making in China, he took an active part in this cause and became an early actor in both films and dramas. All his life, he played the role of villain. He was cunning and vicious, giving people a bad impression.
At that time, the Qing government regarded the performers of the new drama as the disorderly parties who incited the revolution and often persecuted them, but Hong was not frightened. On the day of the 1911 Revolution, he performed with the "social education group" in Hangzhou, and was suddenly surrounded by the Qing soldiers. He escaped from the back door of the theater, got into the small fireboat and fled back to Shanghai. After returning to Shanghai, he immediately joined the "Shanghai business group" and took part in the battle of attacking the manufacturing Bureau.
Shanghai, which is regarded as a paradise for adventurers, has long gathered all kinds of foreign "adventurers". The purpose of their coming to China is to seek for gold and make a fortune in China. In 1909, the Americans set up the Asia Film Company in Shanghai. They wanted to make a fortune from the film industry. The actors of this company are members of MINMING new drama club led by Zhang Shichuan and Xinmin new drama club led by Zheng Zhengqiu. Hong jingling joined Xinmin new drama club in 1913 and entered the film industry at this time. At that time, he was not a professional film actor. Instead, he made films in the studio during the day and performed new plays on the stage at night.
Later, Hong jingling focused on the film.
In 1916, "magic fairy" film company adapted the new stage play "Black Ghost" into the film of the same name, in which Hong jingling played the role of villain, the turtle slave in the brothel. Guan Haifeng adapted the French detective novel "ten sisters" into a film called "red pink skeleton", in which Hong jingling plays a skeleton gangster. In the film, he appears to be a peddler of pear paste candy, but in fact he sends ecstasy to the ten sisters and stands guard for them.
From 1919 to 1926, Hong jingling made films in the film department of the Commercial Press, such as "the fate of pine and cypress" (playing a rogue), "getting gold in a barren mountain" (playing a robber), "Qingxu dream" (playing a bad Taoist), "killing one's relatives with righteousness" (playing a gang of idle people), "Lotus falling" (playing a beggar), as well as "patriotic umbrella", "good brother" and "drunken regret".
In 1926, the film department of the commercial press was separated from the commercial department and made independent films, which was renamed Guoguang film company. He made Shanghai flower, mother's heart, Ma langdang, and song field Qiyuan in this company. After the dissolution of "Guoguang", Hong jingling transferred to the great wall picture company, starring in films such as "Wu Song blood splashing Yuanyang building", "Flame Mountain", "son hero" and "true and false sun Walker". When Sun Yu returned from studying abroad in the United States and worked at the Great Wall, Hong jingling starred in his "spider party" and played a leader of the party.
In 1929, Hong jingling and several friends set up Changming film company. The first film is "the secret cave". He is one of the main actors, and also does the company's general affairs, drama work. Then he made "two heavenly kings". Both films don't sell well. At that time, "Star" was making "burning Honglian Temple" and the business was very good. "Changming" was affected and also made "burning Pingyang city", with Hong jingling as the main actor. After the film was released, it was really very popular.
In 1932, the Japanese invaders invaded Songhu on January 28, and the Changming site was destroyed by enemy artillery fire. They moved to a new site and continued to shoot "burning Pingyang city", a total of 6 episodes. Later, "Changming" closed down because of internal contradictions. Hong jingling joined Lianhua film company in 1933 until the end of "Lianhua" in 1937. He took part in the performances of "a match made in heaven", "the road", "the lost lamb", "Wang Laowu", "the song of loving mother", "the Pearl of the sea of people", "the scenery of the sea of art", and also took part in the performances of "the gilded city", "the daughter of the general" and "the story of blood in the wolf mountain". In 1937, the Japanese invaders occupied Shanghai on August 13, and Hong jingling's home was destroyed by Japanese artillery fire. In order to live, he joined "Xinhua" and performed in films such as "Fei Lai Fu" and "Thunderstorm". Later, he joined "China Film" and participated in the performances of several films. At this time, the treatment of movie actors was very low, and Hong jingling was struggling with hunger.
