In 2005, he and his friend Liang Xuan, who dropped out of Tsinghua University majoring in thermal energy and power, founded pitiantian. In 2007, he wrote and directed a 30 minute animated short film "swallowtail butterfly", and got the first money to make a sample film at the end of the same year. After that, he devoted himself to the creation of the animated feature film big fish Begonia. In 2011, for more than two years after that, due to poor financing, the production of "big fish Begonia" project was suspended. in June 2013, he and Liang Xuan launched online crowdfunding. In November of the same year, "big fish Begonia" finally determined the investor and distributor, and officially entered the production stage.
