Wu Daiyao was born in Qingdao, Shandong Province. Born in 1919, died in 1997. He studied in Japan in his early years. In 1949, he joined Dongying as a dubbing actor. In 1954, he also served as a Japanese translator. In 1958, he was transferred to director of drama and director of production. In 1979, he was transferred back to work as a dubbing actor and translator for many translated films. He has translated dozens of Japanese films, such as "mother's birthday", "banner of class three in four years" (won the golden bull Award for children's film of the Ministry of Culture) and "love in waves" (won the award for excellent translated film of the Ministry of Culture).
