Character evaluation
Cheng kui'an is known as the "golden supporting actor" in the Hong Kong film industry for his outstanding performances in "two men in the throng", "prison situation", "lucky man and heaven", "the old man in the lake". (Xinhua Online Review)
Cheng kui'an, together with Huang Guangliang, Li Zhaoji and he Jiaju, is known as the "four villains of Hong Kong Films" for his appearance and acting skills. (Sina entertainment review)
Among the many villains in Hong Kong films, Cheng kui'an is a character that has to be mentioned. In his career, he has acted in more than 300 films and 600 TV series. More than 90% of them are villains, and more than half of them are called by the same name: Cheng kui'an is not handsome enough in terms of appearance, nor elegant in terms of temperament. But with 1.85 meters of powerful figure and the ferocious face. Cheng kui'an has become the best choice for the villains in the world. In the past 20 years when Hong Kong gangster movies were popular, the directors first thought of Cheng kui'an when movies needed the arrogant and domineering gangster society. And this is not so loud nickname also began to be in vogue helplessly. He has a face full of flesh and fierce eyes. He wants to write the word "villain" on his face. This is Cheng kui'an. The consistent impression left in the film. But you can call him bad, call him bad. But can't say that he is insidious, say that he dislikes, Cheng kui'an's lovely place lies in the bad on the bad frank, thorough. (China news online review)
