Yang Xiaozhong
Yang Xiaozhong, formerly known as Yang Baotai, was born in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province in December 1899. He is one of the earliest film directors and film artists in China.
Yang Xiaozhong has been a filmmaker for more than 40 years. He has experienced various development periods of silent, sound and color films. He directed nearly 100 films in his life. He is one of the most filmmakers in the history of Chinese film, so he has the reputation of "100 directors". He was the director of China film workers association and vice chairman of Shanghai Branch of China film workers association.
Early experience
Yang Xiaozhong was born on December 11, 1899. Due to his father's early death and his family's distress, Yang Xiaozhong left school after only a few years. In 1916, Yang Xiaozhong was admitted to the cram school of Shanghai Commercial Press, where he worked part-time. Two years later, he transferred to the confidential Department of the library. This year, the museum set up an active film department and began to shoot films. Yang Xiaozhong benefited from his mother's cultural education and was influenced by her mother's love of literature. He was very interested in film shooting. He often went to the scene to watch American films and often went to the cinema to see American films. He gradually realized some basic characteristics of films and was eager to try film creation.
Director experience
In 1920, he adapted the script for China Film and drama research society, and in the following year, Yan Ruisheng, a film produced by the Commercial Press's active film department, was the earliest feature film in China. Since then, he has also stepped into the film world, renamed Yang Xiaozhong, and specially wrote scripts for "business". In 1922, he wrote two screenplays, good brother and fate of pine and cypress. Since 1925, he has filmed independently. The first film he directed was "drunken regret". In the film, he boldly selected some teachers and students to play the roles, and got rid of the dependence of the film industry on civilized actors at that time. At the same time, he uses models instead of real scenes, uses natural scenery to set off the characters' thoughts and feelings, and uses special effects to shoot scenes such as fires and storms. These measures have certain innovative significance for Chinese films in the initial stage. In 1926, the film department of the commercial press was reorganized into Guoguang film company, and Yang Xiaozhong was appointed as the director of the play to preside over the work of director. He made three films in one year, including "mother's heart", "it's better to go home" and "horse's wild". After 1927, he worked as a director in five or six film companies, shooting more than 30 films. Among them, Liang Xiao (1934), which accuses feudal ethics, snake and scorpion beauty (1935) and little sister (1935), which expose social darkness, and biography of red sheep hero (1935), which describes the uprising in Jintian village of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom and praises peasants' resistance and struggle, are his better works in this period. After the July 7 Incident, he went to Suiyuan to shoot a documentary on the front line of Anti Japanese war. From November 1937 to 1949, he was employed as a film merchant and his thoughts degenerated. Although he made 40 or 50 films, most of them were mediocre. Only a few films, such as "home" adapted from Ba Jin's novel of the same name and satirical comedy "crazy men and women", should be appropriately affirmed. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, he was rejuvenated. Because he has accumulated rich experience and is familiar with film making skills, he has made remarkable achievements in shooting children's films and drama films. His children's films include "Lan Lan and Dong Dong" (1958), "good child" (1959), "the secret of baohulu" (1963); drama films include "an Tang recognizes his mother" (1956), "Chen San Wu Niang" (1957), "Zhou Xinfang's stage art" (1961), and Shaoxing drama film "the Monkey King three hits the white bone essence" co directed by him and Yu Zhongying, giving full play to the characteristics of film art Long, the use of lens switching and scene editing and other directing techniques, so that the film is superb performance of the human demon changes, the myth of the ghost fighting plot, shaping a resourceful and brave, good at distinguishing the true and false, tenacious and optimistic myth hero image of Monkey King. plot
Tang Monk and his disciples went to the west to learn Buddhist scriptures and trudged to Wanzi mountain. In the cave of wave moon in the mountain, there is a thousand year old corpse demon Baigujing.
