Character evaluation
Gu Yue plays Mao Zedong with the broad mind of a strategist and the heroic temperament of a poet. He figured out the essence of Mao Zedong's character, and reflected the optimistic, open-minded, strong, farsighted and extraordinary courage of Mao Zedong's character incisively and vividly. Although the image of Mao Zedong he created was not comprehensive, it was ready to come out and lifelike. (review of film review)
Gu Yue is an optimistic, enthusiastic and casual person. He is very persistent in art. His tall stature and steady movements are very similar to Chairman Mao. Gu Yue's performance is very good and has left a deep impression on people. His role as Mao Zedong was affirmed by the audience. He can play Chairman Mao not only in shape but also in spirit, and make people feel cordial. His death is a big loss for the film and television industry.
