Chen Yude (1940-1996) was born in Zhenping county, Nanyang City, Henan Province. He fled to Xi'an with his parents when he was young.

He was admitted to the performance Department of Shanghai Drama Academy in 1958 and went to Henan dialect troupe after graduation.

In 1965, he played a role in the film "the spirit of dragon and horse" adapted from the drama of the same name, which was well received.

After the "Cultural Revolution" in 1976, he appeared on the screen again, and successively appeared in such films as "running river", "look at the family", "contemporary", "dumb girl", "spring Ding Dong", "our Niu Baisui", "female model disturbance", "girl in the lake", "trendy girl" and so on. Chen Yude is known as "Henan weirdo" in the film industry. He is good at comedy performance and pursues the life style of comedy performance. He has won the first film art performance Association Award and the best supporting actor award of "Hundred Flowers Award". In addition to the film, Chen Yude also made TV dramas such as peanut dog, Ruan's three heroes, fortune boy, golden shoes, girl in the river and lake, happy meeting, etc., and appeared in dramas such as analysis of 15 divorce cases and thousand years of meritorious deeds. After 1978, he played a role in many films, such as "look at the family", "contemporary people", "our cattle centenary" and so on.

In 1987, he participated in CCTV Spring Festival Gala to perform short video sketch "loving couple".

He starred in golden shoes in 1988. Liu Tiedan, who played Liu Tiedan in the film our veterans, and sun Laozhu in the film chicken fight, won the best supporting actor award of the 9th and 13th hundred flowers awards in 1986 and 1990 respectively.

He died of nasopharyngeal carcinoma in 1996.

Chen Yude was hailed as "Henan weirdo" by the film industry, and later called him "four circles" in the TV series "the Yellow River flows to the East". Chen Yude is good at comedy performance.
