Early experience
On February 3, 1926, Cheng Zhi was born in Wuhan, Hubei Province. His grandfather Cheng SongWan named him "Huichun" and "Chunsun" because the date coincided with "the beginning of spring". In 1928, he moved from Hankou to Shanghai with his family. He studied in Huaxia primary school when he was seven years old. In 1939, he studied in Shanghai Huaguang middle school. Acting experience
