Character evaluation
Wei Lian belongs to the "fourth generation" director. He has a lot of experience and adheres to the humanistic value and personal artistic style of the film. It can be seen from the war films that he strives to develop different ways of expression in the same type of film mode. Although he is famous for making blockbusters, Director Wei Lian is still good at fine carving and freehand brushwork. His film experience is not complicated, and as far as his contemporaries or directors are concerned, he is very lucky, whether it is historical opportunities or creative gains. He is a director with a strong sense of innovation. He always wants to create a different screen effect, some of which are successful and some of which are unsuccessful. This is normal. However, even if he fails or is not satisfactory, Wei Lian's directing mentality is commendable (review of contemporary film).
