In 1950, he entered the Chemistry Department of Nanjing University, majoring in colloidal chemistry.
In 1953, after graduating from University, he was assigned to Changchun Institute of physical chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences to follow Mr. Liu Kuo in the work of silicic acid solidified foundation.
In 1954, he came to Beijing Institute of chemistry with Mr. Liu, and was sent to Nanjing University to study silicate polymerization under the leadership of Mr. Dai Anbang.
In September 1956, he was sent to the Institute of physical chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the Soviet Union as a graduate student, majoring in colloidal science and learning from academician lebinger.
In 1960, he graduated with an associate doctorate. After returning to China, he was still engaged in rheology of clay colloids in the Institute of chemistry.
In 1964, he began to work in photographic science. In 1975, he worked in the Institute of photographic science. He has successively served as associate researcher (1979), researcher (1986), director of Research Office (1981-1996) and director of Academic Committee of colloid and interface open laboratory (1998).
From 1960 to 1975, he worked in the Institute of chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
He worked in the Institute of photosensitivity, Chinese Academy of Sciences from 1975 to 1999.
From December 1990 to June 1991, he was a visiting scholar at the Max Planck Institute of Biophysics and chemistry in Germany.
He has been working in the Chinese Academy of chemistry since 1999.
In 2001, he was elected academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
In 2008, he was a member of the Royal chemical society.
Main achievements
Achievements in scientific research
Since 1950s, we have studied the structure and rheological properties of silicic acid gel and concentrated dispersion system. Combined with many important tasks of national economy, we have made important contributions in developing aerospace remote sensing film, preparing high concentration coal water slurry and enhancing oil recovery. Since 1980s, the research on ordered molecular films and biomolecular electronic devices has been initiated and carried out in China. Many creative works have been done in the research of biomimetic enzyme film, biomimetic vision film, vesicle biomimetic sensor, nanoparticle preparation, assembly and nanoparticle biological effect.
Jiang long has published more than 270 papers, edited, translated and edited 5 anthologies, and authorized 10 national invention patents.
Jiang long is actively engaged in the organization of academic exchanges at home and abroad. He used to be deputy director of Physical Chemistry Committee of Chinese chemical society. In 1987, he promoted the establishment of the LB film professional group, and served as the leader of the first LB film professional group (later the director of the molecular ordered film professional committee). China Japan Bilateral LB film conference, Asia ordered film conference, the first Asia ordered film conference, the second China Japan bilateral conference and the third domestic conference were launched.
personnel training
Jiang long is the director of the first academic committee of the colloid and interface Open Laboratory of the Institute of photosensitivity. He has trained more than 40 doctors and masters. He has taught "colloid and Interface Chemistry" in the Graduate School of University of science and technology of China for nearly 7 years.
Honorary recognition
He won the excellent tutor award of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1998.
In 1998, he was rated as an excellent Communist of Beijing District of Chinese Academy of Sciences.
He was elected academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2001.
Social service
Jiang long holds the posts of adjunct professor of Beijing University of technology, East China University of technology and Suzhou University, director of the academic committee of the Key Laboratory of colloid and interface and chemical thermodynamics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, editorial board member of colloid and Surface Science A and chemical progress, and international editorial board member of the English edition of colloid Journal of Russia. He once served as the director of the first molecular ordered assembly Committee of the Chinese chemical society, initiated the Sino Japanese bilateral LB film conference and the Asian ordered film conference, and served as the chairman of one Asian ordered film conference and two Sino Japanese bilateral LB film conferences.
Character evaluation
Jiang long has made great contributions to the research and development of colloidal and interfacial chemistry in China.
