Chen Zhiqiang, male, born in 1957, is currently vice president and director of general surgery of Guangdong Provincial Hospital of traditional Chinese medicine (the Second Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of traditional Chinese Medicine), chief physician, professor and doctoral supervisor. He has been engaged in the clinical treatment, teaching and scientific research of the surgery of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine. Basic overview

He graduated from Guangzhou University of traditional Chinese medicine in 1983. He studied in general surgery and Urology of Sun Yat Sen Medical University, and majored in urology at New York University Medical Center. He presided over scientific research projects related to prostate initiated by the State Administration of traditional Chinese medicine, and was supported by key university teachers of the Ministry of education and key scientific research projects of the provincial science and Technology Commission. Professor Chen Zhiqiang conscientiously implemented the resolutions of the Party committee, and made great efforts to carry out in-depth mobilization, correct guidance, inspection and supervision, and standardized management. In the aspect of standardization of scientific research project management, regular inspection was carried out on key projects such as tackling key problems in the tenth five year plan, and relevant problems were timely notified and solved, thus ensuring the smooth implementation of major projects. We should encourage, mobilize, organize and coordinate the application of major projects. In the application for 12 major projects of the Ministry of science and technology in the National 863 program, coordination meetings have been held for many times, making efforts for the successful application of our institute. In the process of applying for key projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China in 2001, through in-depth mobilization, expert guidance and multi-party coordination, the number of projects applied for by our institute has increased greatly from a few in previous years to 16 in 2002. In the whole province, a total of nine units applied, but only our hospital applied for "syndrome" and "preparation" two laboratories at the same time.
