On January 3, 2017, the chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Liang Zhenying, sent a message on his "facebook" to express sympathy to Wang Jiaxi's family and pointed out that Mr. Wang's "old man" is a legend of the Hong Kong generation. May Mr. Wang rest in peace.
On the same day, the Secretary for commerce and economic development of the Hong Kong SAR government, Mr so Kam Liang, expressed his deep sympathy for the death of Wang Jiaxi and extended his deep sympathy to his family. He said that Mr. Wang Jiaxi, a local comic master, created the "Lao Fu Zi" comic in the 1960s. Through his unique painting style and simple and humorous stories, he showed the life of Hong Kong in different times and reflected all kinds of life. Many well-known comic characters, such as Lao Fuzi, Da sweet potato and Mr. Qin, have accompanied the growth of Hong Kong people and have been loved by readers of different generations and ages.
Wang Jiaxi once said: "my life is like a cartoon. I try my best to let" laofuzi ", that is, let myself play tricks to amuse readers."
His son, Wang zezeng, once said that he admired his father, Wang Jiaxi, very much. He has always been a creator full of vitality and imagination. Lao Fu Zi, which he created, is a cartoon describing everyday life. It is not only a daily interest, but also a kind of imagination. After half a century, although time and space have changed and everyone's expectations of life are different, the ups and downs are still directly rooted in people's hearts through the thought-provoking cartoons.
Character controversy
In 2001, the writer Feng Jicai published a book named "cultural excavation, Lao Fuzi's excavation: fighting against injustice for my friend". It is pointed out that Wang Ze's Lao Fuzi is quoted from Lao Fuzi, the late Chinese cartoonist Peng di (1907-1983), which has been widely concerned by the society since then. In the 1930s and 1940s, the most influential characters in China's cartoon industry were Zhang Leping's "San Mao" and ye Qianyu's "Mr. Wang and Xiao Chen" in the South and Shanghai, while in the north, Beijing and Tianjin, the most influential characters were Mr. Peng Di's "Lao Fu Zi" and "Lao Bai Shu".
The characters in Peng Di's laofuzi are similar to those in Wang Ze's laofuzi in appearance and character. Until the death of Wang Jiaxi, the case in the history of Chinese comics has not been settled.
