Su min
Su min, formerly known as PU sixun (July 11, 1926 - August 28, 2016), is an actor and director of Beijing People's Art Theatre, a member of China Dramatist Association and director of Beijing Federation of literary and art circles, whose ancestral home is Lishui District, Nanjing.
Since the 1940s, he has been committed to the progressive drama movement. In 1952, when the Beijing People's Art Troupe was founded, Su min went to the theater and became the first generation actor of the people's Art Troupe. In 1996, at the age of 70, he played Emperor Daoguang in the film Opium War.
On August 28, 2016, he died peacefully in his sleep at home at the age of 90.
Early experience
Mr. Su min, formerly known as Pu Si Xun, is a native of Dixi village, Zhetang Town, Lishui District, Nanjing city. He moved to Beijing with his father when he was young, and his name was changed to Su min because of the need to participate in the revolution.
Acting experience
Since the 1940s, Su Min has been committed to the progressive drama movement.
In 1952, when the Beijing People's Art Troupe was founded, Su min went to the theater and became the first generation actor of the people's Art Troupe.
In 1954, the first version of thunderstorm was staged in Beijing People's Art Troupe. At that time, Xia Chun was the director, and the actors included Hu Zongwen, Tong Chao, Su min, Yu Shizhi, Zheng Rong, Diao Guangqin, Zhu Lin, Zhao kairu, etc. This version of "Thunderstorm" brings together the best actors of Beijing People's art so far, and becomes the peak work in the history of Beijing People's art.
In 1996, at the age of 70, he played Emperor Daoguang in the film Opium War.
In 1999, he was the director of "Cai Wenji".
Many actors and actresses, such as Liang Guanhua, Wang Ji, Song Dandan, Xu Fan, Chen Xiaoyi and Jiang Shan, are his students. Later, he became a director again. Li Bai and Cai Wenji, starring Pu Cunxin, were directed by Su min.
Personal life
Su min's son, Pu Cunxin, grew up in the people's Art Theater and was influenced by the rehearsal and acting of the older generation of actors in the most glorious period of the people's art. Later, he became an actor. However, due to her father's relationship, Pu Cunxin was under too much pressure at the beginning. In the second edition of thunderstorm of Beijing People's art in 1989, Pu Cunxin even took over his father's class and played the second generation of Zhou Ping.
