Wu Jun, male, Han nationality, born in April 1967, graduated from Tsinghua University and Johns Hopkins University. Former senior researcher of Google. Former vice president of Tencent. Computer scientist, best-selling author. Silicon Valley venture capital. Consultant to the Ministry of industry and information technology and director of Johns Hopkins University School of technology. Experts in artificial intelligence, natural language processing and web search. Visiting professor of Shanghai Jiaotong University. The head of Google's question answering system and many innovative products. Dr. Wu Jun is the main designer of Google's Chinese, Japanese and Korean search algorithm. In 2007, he started serializing articles in Google blackboard. Personal experience
Dr. Wu Jun, an alumnus of grade 81 of high school affiliated to Tsinghua University, graduated from the Department of computer science of Tsinghua University (Bachelor's degree) and the Department of electronic engineering of Tsinghua University (Master's degree), and was a lecturer in Tsinghua University from 1993 to 1996.
He has been studying for a doctor's degree in Johns Hopkins University since 1996, and received a doctor's degree in Computer Science in 2002.
During his stay in Tsinghua University and Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Wu Jun devoted himself to speech recognition, natural language processing, especially statistical language model. He won the best paper award of 1995 National Conference on man machine voice intelligent interface and the best paper award of EUROSPEECH in 2000.
Dr. Wu Jun joined Google in 2002 as a senior researcher of Google Research Institute. Not long after he arrived at Google, he and three colleagues started the research field of online search anti cheating and won the Engineering Award for it.
In 2003, he and two colleagues set up the Chinese, Japanese and Korean search department. Dr. Wu Jun is the main designer of Google's Chinese, Japanese and Korean search algorithm. While at Google, he led many R & D projects, including many Chinese related products and natural language processing projects, and was highly praised by Eric Schmidt, the company's CEO.
Dr. Wu Jun has published dozens of papers at home and abroad, and has obtained and applied for nearly ten US and international patents. Since 2005, he has been elected to the board of directors of the Department of computer science at Johns Hopkins University.
