Guo Dalei was born in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, China. His ancestral home is Jinan City, Shandong Province. He was born in a family of drama performers. His father Guo Liyun is a famous Chinese drama artist. At the age of 12, Guo Dalei was admitted to Shenyang art school to study drama performance. At the age of 18, he entered Lu Xun Academy of fine arts to study fine arts. In 1999, he did not immigrate to Singapore with his family, but stayed in Beijing, and successfully entered Warner records (China) Company of the United States. He cooperated with Jin Haixin, Zhou Xun, Wang Feng, Lao Lang, AI Dai, Pu Shu, ye Bei and other singers on many albums. In 2007, he entered Beijing Film Academy to study film photography, and at the same time entered the field of film director. He is a rare all-round director who specializes in performance, art, music and photography.
