Li Chang'an, male, Han nationality, from Handan, Hebei Province, now lives in Wuhan, Hubei Province. He is professor and doctoral supervisor of Department of geography, School of Geosciences, China University of Geosciences (Wuhan). His main research direction is Quaternary Geology and geomorphology.

Main achievements

Li Chang'an has long been engaged in research on Geomorphology and neotectonic movement, Quaternary Geology and environmental change, eco geology and regional sustainable development, basin environment and disaster prevention. \Mainly engaged in the Yangtze River system evolution, basin environmental change and disaster prevention and mitigation research. He presided over 5 National Natural Science Foundation projects, 6 other national projects and more than 10 provincial and ministerial projects. It has won 6 second prizes and 4 third prizes of provincial and ministerial natural science awards and scientific and technological progress awards. While undertaking heavy teaching and scientific research tasks, he actively participated in the "national scientific quality action" and held more than 200 popular science lectures. he actively participated in the discussion of politics and put forward more than 40 proposals and suggestions on the protection of the ecological environment in the Yangtze River Basin and the construction of "two oriented society" in Hubei Province and Wuhan city. Among them, more than 20 proposals were adopted by the government, including "the proposal to formulate the regulations on the protection of wetlands in Hubei Province as soon as possible" and "strengthening the protection of geological relics and the construction of geoparks". The proposal on "building Wuhan Dadong lake ecological water network project" is the third proposal of the first session of the 12th Wuhan Municipal People's Congress, and has been listed in the national plan as a major ecological construction project of "two oriented society" in Wuhan. He was selected as a candidate of the fourth national "mother river Award". His "national view" and "scientific view" of the Yangtze River environmental protection have been widely concerned by the media, and written into the compulsory education textbook "junior high school politics" and the university textbook "Introduction to environmental science" respectively. he was elected as a member of the 12th CPPCC National Committee since 2013.
