Li Zhongxin was born in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province in 1948. He graduated from Shanghai Opera School in 1966. The third grade performer and composer of Shanghai Wei opera company. Member of Shanghai Opera Musicians Association.

1982-1984 studied harmony orchestration in Shanghai Conservatory of music. In 1978, he took part in the Shanghai Youth Literature and art performance, with erhu solo "Sanmenxia Fantasia" and "in memory of Premier Zhou". The costume plays that participated in the second creation of Huaiju opera include Li Cuilian, Xiaodaohui, Shuangtaizi, Yang Naiwu and pakchoi, etc. Li Cuilian, Yang Naiwu and pakchoi and Wang Zhaojun are recorded. He is also the orchestration and conductor of the recording tapes Han Xiaoyou, Ma Xiuying and Liang Weiping.
