Character evaluation
Zhao Fei's lens is full of romantic color. With relatively static composition and movement, diversified light and delicate color atmosphere, it presents a heavy and elegant picture like classical oil painting on the screen. For Zhao Fei, light is a handy modeling tool just as words are to writers. In his lens, light changes into various forms, with rich creative possibilities. Zhao Fei is good at using color filters to modify saturated colors. Although some stories happened in the past require that colors should not be too eye-catching, colors always maintain visual impact in Zhao Fei's lens. Like the fifth generation of filmmakers, Zhao Fei always attaches importance to environmental modeling (Contemporary Film Review).
