Character evaluation
The film "Uncle · uncle" is introverted and realistic, and has a touching aftertaste. Director Yang yaokai aims his camera at the old men in the deep cabinet. He not only stares at those lonely souls trapped in the traditional system intimately and gently, but also sincerely faces the difficult problem of "family value". Although there is no vigorous plot in the whole film, the cool eye contact, simple words and restrained skin relationship between the characters make it a delicate portrayal of the twilight romance of the elderly gay men. The story structure with blank space enables the audience to savor the dilemma of gay men in Hong Kong when facing family and religion. Its value lies in the fact that it pays more attention to the character and human nature than to the pursuit of political correctness, so that the audience can realize the dilemma of the character (the Golden Horse Award of Taiwan film, the Hong Kong film review society, the comprehensive review of mirror weekly).
