Early experience
Guo Baochang, formerly known as Li Baochang, was born in August 1940 in a poor worker's home in Beijing. When he was two years old, his father froze to death in the street. His mother sold him to the Wu family, the head of Shacheng railway station in Hebei Province, for 80 yuan, and changed his surname to Wu. Later, his third aunt borrowed money to redeem him and sold him to Tongrentang for 200 yuan. Because of the adopted mother's surname Guo, she changed her name to Guo Baochang. Guo Baochang has been smart since he was a child. He was able to sing opera at the age of 5 and write articles at the age of 8. He entered Beijing No.5 Middle School at the age of 12. At the age of 16, he began to write the novel "big house gate" with family theme. In 1959, 19-year-old Guo Baochang was strongly recommended by Tian Feng, director of the Directing Department of Beijing Film Academy, and was admitted to the Directing Department of Beijing Film Academy. With the support of the teacher, he started to write the literary script of "big house gate". In 1964, Guo Baochang was labeled as a "reactionary student" and two-thirds of his novels "big house gate" were confiscated for erecting monuments and biographies for reactionary capitalists. Guo Baochang was sentenced to three years and assigned to Beijing Nankou farm for labor reform. He committed suicide in the most difficult time. After the beginning of the cultural revolution, Guo Baochang was sentenced to life imprisonment. During this period, Guo Baochang still wrote "big house gate", but it was noticed again, and "big house gate" was burned by the red guards. In March 1969, he went to the cadre school of the 4619 army in Zhangjiakou to continue to accept the supervision and transformation, and began to write Da Zhaimen again. In 1973, Guo Baochang was assigned to work in Guangxi film studio. In July 1979, Guo Baochang's unjust case was vindicated, and then he got the diploma of Beijing Film Academy (the normal graduation time is 1965). In 1980, because of his divorce from his wife, the manuscript of the gate of the big house was burned by his wife.
Acting experience

Guo Baochang's father's surname is Li and his mother's surname is Cui. His mother sold his sister's surname Chen after his father died. He was also sold to Xuanhua tofu shop by human traffickers. His brother's surname was Zhang, and his mother had a daughter in Zhangjia. After the liberation, he married the Wang family, the breeder of the production team, and the child's surname changed to Wang. Therefore, Guo Baochang's brothers and sisters have their surnames Chen, Wang, Guo and Zhang. Guo Baochang's foster mother, Ms. Guo Rong, used to be a maid for the old lady in the Tongrentang family. Later, Le Jingyu, the fourth master of the family, recruited her as his wife. Because when Guo Rong married at the age of 26, Le Jingyu was already 70 years old and could not bear children. In such a big house, it was impossible to have no children. However, according to the rules of the Yue family, Guo's stepson must be selected from his own family, and no other surname is allowed. Guo Rong didn't choose in Lejia, mainly because she didn't want to leave her property to others.
