Character evaluation
In the fifth generation of directors, Zhou Xiaowen's "land complex" is a special case. He is good at discovering stories and telling them in movie language (Sina entertainment review). Zhou Xiaowen's character and temper are stubborn and straightforward. Ermo is like an allegory, which fully demonstrates Zhou Xiaowen's ability to control literary and artistic films. On the road of film creation, Zhou Xiaowen has experienced twists and turns. The consequence of his too advanced film consciousness is that he has been repeatedly frustrated in Censorship (Netease Entertainment review).
