Zhao Yuan

Zhao Yuan

Zhao Yuan (December 6, 1925 - March 16, 2020), born in Shanghai, native to Fenghua, Zhejiang, is a Chinese film director.

When he was young, he studied and lived with his parents in Nanjing, Changzhou, Wuhan and other places. He used to be Zhao Xiaowan.

On March 16, 2020, Zhao Yuan died in Beijing at the age of 94.

Profile

In May 1940, he joined the second anti enemy drama team (later reorganized into nine teams) of the Political Department of the Military Commission of the national government under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. In 1949, Zhao Yuan was transferred to the actor troupe of Shanghai Film Studio and joined the Communist Party of China in 1951. He was transferred to Beijing Film Studio in 1956. He has successively served as the deputy director of the films "Lin family shop", "revolutionary family", "Shanghai girl", "after the armistice", "eternal life in the fire", "one day and one night", and later as the director. He has successively directed such films as "newsboy", "they are in love", "ribbon with gold anchor", "man who helped me to the war horse", "fourteen or five years old", "dream of Red Mansions" and "moon falling on the jade river". In 1984, director Zhao Yuan's "fourteen or five years old" won the encouragement Award for excellent children's films of the Ministry of radio, film and television and the excellent film award of the first children's ox Award; in 1990, the series film "a dream of Red Mansions" co directed with Xie Tieli won the best director award of the 10th Golden Rooster Award; it successively won the commemorative medals for the 60th and 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese people's war of resistance against Japanese aggression, and celebrated the 70th anniversary of the founding of the people's Republic of China Commemorative Medal.

Family situation

Zhao Yuan's husband is Mr. Zhu Jinming, a famous film artist, photographer and director. After the victory of the Anti Japanese War, Zhu Jinming joined Kunlun film company as director of Technology Department and photographer, and successively shot such excellent films as "a river flowing eastward", "lights of thousands of families", "hope in the world" and "three hairs wandering". After the founding of the people's Republic of China, Zhu Jinming's films such as Shangrao concentration camp, the battle of the South and the north, the storm and eternal life in the fire are all well-known works handed down from generation to generation.

The death of a character

Zhao died in Beijing on March 16, 2020, the last winner of the Golden Rooster Award.
