You can't influence each other. So when you enter the liberated areas, you have to change your name. Now change it. "At that time, I didn't have the time to look it up in the dictionary. Anecdotes of characters
Diligent master
"In the early 1960s, when I went to Shanghai, I met many painters, and accompanied them to visit Lin Fengmian, Pan Tianshou and other old gentlemen. At that time, all I thought about was painting, and I often came into contact with painting, so I finally met Li kuchan and Xu linlu by chance. " From then on, with tenacious artistic vitality and persistent pursuit of dreams, he insisted on learning painting from two masters of traditional Chinese painting at least three times a week, at least one morning each time, and accepted their careful guidance and help, rain or shine. He began to study steadily from the basics of using pen and ink. In his hard practice day and night, his painting techniques improved by leaps and bounds, and finally won the praise of Li kuchan and Xu linlu.
In 1986, when he held his own painting exhibition, he asked Xu linlu to write an inscription. Xu linlu wrote eight big characters: "diligent in writing and creating a new way", which is undoubtedly a high affirmation of LAN Tianye's calligraphy and painting. "Mr. Xu linlu really knows me! These eight words have benefited me a lot. First of all, we should be diligent. Painting must be practiced frequently. We should not let other things distract us. We should also be independent. We should open up our own way and create our own style. "
He kept his teacher's admonition in mind. While winning the true biography of the two masters of traditional Chinese painting, he created his own unique painting style based on Qi Baishi's artistic creed of "those who learn from me live, those who are like me die". His landscape paintings are dripping with ink, flowing freely, more simple and simple, and contain a light secular state of mind; his freehand flower and bird paintings are good at eagles, which are lifelike, with a unique aesthetic perspective and artistic pursuit, showing a vivid charm and sincere interest in heaven; his characters are mainly ancient mythological characters such as Guanyin, Damo, Mountain Ghost, Jiang Taigong, etc., with full composition, The shape is vivid. His paintings are concise in function, elegant in color and elegant in style.
Love painting
Talking about the experience of learning painting, LAN Lao came to the spirit. It is not difficult to see that Lan Lao, who has made indelible contributions to the vigorous development of China's performing arts, has a real life dream of painting. "It's a mistake! It's very accidental for me to act. The first thing I learned was painting. " Recalling the past, Mr. LAN often choked his wrist and sighed, "I've loved painting since I was a child, and I'm interested in all kinds of things that can be painted. At that time, I lived near the White Pagoda Temple. When I went to temple fairs, I would draw all kinds of folk arts and crafts one by one. I often went to the opera garden, where I painted faces, costumes and weapons. I also painted comic books, illustrations, comic books and so on. "
In 1944, LAN finally got what he wanted and was admitted to the oil painting department of the national Beiping Art College (now the predecessor of the Central Academy of Fine Arts), hoping to realize his artistic ideal there. At that time, he was already fascinated with painting. He practiced watercolor, pencil drawing, print, cartoon and other forms. "At that time, I naturally became the designer of the art and layout of the blackboard newspaper in my class. I often secretly drew teachers in class, and even opened a comic column of" one teacher for each issue "on the blackboard newspaper in my school."
In 1946, Xu Beihong took over the school and became its principal. In the same year, at the age of 19, he made an incomprehensible decision: to take the exam again. In this regard, he felt that it was not a bad thing, "relearning can lay a solid foundation, isn't that good?" Maybe it's interest! During the time of heavy study, he also worked very hard.
At that time, his family lived in the west, while the school was in the East. The buses between the two places often didn't come for an hour. He simply walked more than ten miles to the school and stayed in the studio for a day. Speaking of this, Mr. LAN told us an interesting thing: "at that time, we all used charcoal strokes, and when we wanted to modify it, we used steamed bread to erase it. Sometimes it's noon when I find that the steamed bread is almost used. "
Modest painting
When he was in middle school, the situation changed greatly. At that time, young people were generally concerned about current affairs, society and the country, and LAN Lao was no exception. And drama is an art closely linked with society, so when the student troupe led him to act together, he responded to the call of the times, stepped out of the studio, and then embarked on the road of drama performance.
With a serious, down-to-earth, diligent and rigorous attitude towards life, Mr. LAN and many of the older generation of performing artists spare no effort to explore the starting point of China's dramatic art.
In more than half a century of stage art career, LAN Lao has starred in more than 70 plays, especially teahouse, the pinnacle of Chinese realistic drama. Since its debut in 1958, it has won high praise from the drama industry and the audience. Qin Zhongyi, played by LAN Lao, has also become an eternal classic in people's hearts.
But behind the countless glories on his head, LAN Lao has a great regret: "in the past half century, I have left painting behind because of acting, which is my lifelong regret."
It can be said that Lan Lao's painting foundation is beneficial to his acting career. His long-term painting creation has cultivated his sense of modeling, action and atmosphere. He always insists on his own make-up. For this reason, the make-up artist once had "opinions" on him, but he said: "I created the characters, so I can understand them myself." LAN Lao believes that acting is also a plastic art, which requires the use of aesthetic feelings. It is a great pity that the director and actors do not understand art.
Now retired LAN Lao summed up his life in eight words: "piano, chess, calligraphy and painting, flowers, birds, insects and fish". He wants to go beyond the original theme of flowers and birds
