Early experience
Graduated from Beijing opera performance major of China Academy of drama, majoring in martial arts. During the period of school, he has been taught by Gao Shenglin, Jin Tong, Li Shengbin, Wang Mingzhong and other teachers.
Acting experience
In 1985, he went to Hong Kong to perform with Peking opera troupes from three provinces and five cities, and was warmly welcomed by the audience with three operas: "burning Pei Yuanqing", "washing Fushan" and "killing four gates". It caused a sensation in Xiangjiang opera circle, with seven curtain calls.
In 1987, he won the best performance award in the first national young Peking Opera actor TV competition sponsored by CCTV and China Dramatists Association. Wu Sheng won the first place.
He went to Japan to study in 1987. During this period, he has starred in many Hong Kong TV dramas, such as Mei Lanfang, the sky beyond the loess, the great man of China, one unit of TVB version of Bao Qingtian (flower butterfly), etc., and films such as shuilinglong, the new cold-blooded thirteen eagles, chuliuxiang, etc.
In 1993, he performed in Paris at the invitation of the French honor Corps.
In 1997, at the invitation of the Asian Music Association of Japan, he participated in the Peking Opera Troupe of China and starred in "havoc in heaven" in Japan.
In 1997, at the invitation of UCLA (University of Los Angeles), he went to the United States to participate in the International Artists Exchange Conference and performed "havoc in heaven".
In 1998, he was invited to UCLA as a visiting professor of Chinese Peking Opera.

Since 2006, he has played Yang Jiye in Li Liuyi's Mu Guiying.
