Shang Changrong
Shang Changrong, male, born in July 1940 in Beijing, is a national first-class actor, a famous Peking opera performing artist, and a representative inheritor of the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage (Peking Opera) projects. He has twice won the National May Day Labor Medal.
He once served as the fifth vice chairman of the Chinese Drama Association, the sixth and seventh chairman of the Chinese Drama Association, and is now an honorary member of the China Federation of literary and art circles and the ninth honorary chairman of the Chinese Dramatist Association.

Shang Changrong, a famous Peking opera performing artist, was born in 1940. He is the third son of Shang Xiaoyun, one of the four famous dans. He has been influenced by his father's art since he was a child and has studied with many famous artists. He is the first winner of Chinese Drama Plum Blossom award and the first inheritor of national intangible cultural heritage. His representative works include farewell my concubine, Cao Cao and Yang Xiu, incorruptible official Yu Chenglong, etc.
Born in Beijing in July 1940, Shang Changrong was influenced by family art. He came to the stage at the age of five and formally studied Peking Opera Hualian at the age of ten. He successively studied with famous artists such as Chen Furui, Su lianhan and Hou Xirui. Under the guidance of Mingjing Chen Furui, he studied caoqiaoguan, qimeian, yuguoyuan, Suo Wulong, luhuadang and Dingjiashan, and performed while learning.
In 1956, he began to star in Yao Gang, Jing De pretending to be crazy, Black Whirlwind Li Kui, and Jiang Xianghe.
In 1959, with his father Shang Xiaoyun, he was transferred to Shaanxi Peking Opera Troupe as an actor. Later, he worshipped Hou Xirui as his teacher and got his true biographies, such as stealing the Royal horse and Taking Luoyang.
In 1976, he was appointed deputy head of Shaanxi Peking Opera Troupe and began to participate in the management and artistic creation of the troupe. He played Liu Zongmin in the new play "shooting tiger mouth" adapted from Yao xueyin's novel Li Zicheng, which is his first new costume play after the "Cultural Revolution". Later, he starred in modern drama "Pingjiang dawn", playing Peng Dehuai.
In the autumn of 1984, he became the head of "Shanjing" and led the troupe to create and perform "Zhang Fei Jing Xian".
In 1987, he became honorary head of Shaanxi Peking Opera Troupe.
In 1988, he was transferred to Shanghai Peking Opera Theater.
In 1992, he was invited to Shanghai to star in the new historical drama "Cao Cao and Yang Xiu", who played Cao Cao with excellent singing and acting skills. The play became popular and Shang Changrong was well-known throughout the country. He was officially transferred to Shanghai Peking Opera Theater. After that, he rehearsed Niu Gao's marriage, mang Zhang Fei and Yao Qi.
In 1995, he took part in the excerpt of "Da Long Pao" in the Spring Festival Gala.

On June 19, 2015, he participated in the Chinese Opera Festival at the Grand Theatre of Hong Kong Cultural and Art Center and performed the Peking Opera farewell my concubine.
On October 4, 2016, Beijing Opera Niu Gao Xia Shu Tiaohua Che was performed on Shanghai Tianchan Yifu stage.

On October 7, 2019, the 3D panoramic beijing opera film "Zhenguan grand event" held its national premiere in Shanghai Movie City, starring Beijing opera performing artists Shang Changrong, Guan Dongtian, Xia Huihua, Zhu Shihui and Chen Shaoyun. The film was directed by Teng Junjie, and the main creators also showed up at the premiere to share the film shooting experience with the audience. Shang Changrong was born in Nangong County, Hebei Province (now nangong city). His distant ancestor was one of the "San Francisco" in the early Qing Dynasty. His great grandfather Shang Zhiquan was the magistrate of Qingyuan County. By the time of his grandfather Shang Yuanzhao's generation, the Shang family was in decline. Shang Yuanzhao served as a "buyer" to support his family in a palace in the capital.
Shang Changrong's father, Shang Xiaoyun, is one of the "four famous dans" in Peking Opera. He is a master of the "Shang school" danjiao art school. In the middle of last century, Shang family became a famous family in Liyuan in China. Besides Shang Changrong's father, master Shang Xiaoyun, his elder brother Shang Changchun was a wusheng artist, his second brother Shang Changlin inherited his father's "Shang school" to become a Dan artist, and his uncle Shang Fuxia was also a famous Peking Opera artist.
