In 1986, she attended the school of drama, Hong Kong Academy for performing arts. After graduation, he went to England and France in 1991 to study acting skills and physique training with drama tutors Philippe gaulier and Monika pagneux. After returning to Hong Kong in 1993, he participated in the founding of the theatre group and served as the joint artistic director. In recent years, Zhen Yongbei has mainly developed her directing work, and has co directed many representative works of the company with her ex husband Zhan Ruiwen. His solo play "you yuan" was premiered in 2005 and won high praise. In 2006, it was invited to participate in Taiwan's "International Theater Festival". In 2008, the theater group decided to give up government funding and set up the cultural industry organization "PIP cultural industry" (PIP) to expand the creative field from the stage to different areas. Chen Yongbei also participated in Mao Junhui's experimental creation and stage performance.
