Tang Jia
Tang Jia, also known as Huang Longji, was born in 1937 and studied with Yuan Xiaotian. The 1960s and Liu Jialiang created an era.
Profile
In the 1960s and 1970s, Tang Jia and Liu Jialiang were the most popular martial arts directors in Hong Kong. They played everywhere and had many martial arts masters.
Fraternal cooperation
The two brothers, one from the north and the other from the south, worked closely together. Most of them worked together as martial arts instructors. When they were outside, they would receive the play alone, and the money would be divided equally. Later, the two men's martial arts teachers supported each other and formed two factions. However, the two still cooperate. In Zhang Che's early films, Tang Jia and Liu Jialiang were both martial artists. It was not until Zhang Che came to Taiwan to set up the "long bow movie" that Tang Jia left Zhang Che because he didn't know the inside story and didn't want to leave Shao. After staying, he took his martial arts teacher to work around Shao. Later, he was promoted to director and made three films, namely "three adventures in Shaolin", "descendants of Shaolin" and "master Hongquan". After making these three films, I went to work on TVB. The apprentices include Guo Zhui, Yuan Bao, Xu Zhongxin and others.
Keep a low profile
Tang Jia is a very low-key person. In Shao's decades, master Tang has been working silently. Others have been promoted from martial arts director to director. However, master Tang has been honest in his martial arts guidance. Many of Shao's directors have cooperated with him. When he was busiest, he once ran four groups of plays a day. In the early stage, he served as martial arts director of many Zhang Che's works with Liu Jialiang Later, he worked with Chu Yuan to design a variety of martial arts actions in many Gulong martial arts films directed by Chu Yuan. The duel scene between Chu Liuxiang and Wuhua monk, which he designed for Chu Liuxiang, became one of the classic duel scenes in martial arts films. Tang Jia has been an honest martial arts director for nearly 20 years, and then he became a director in 1982. However, he has only directed three films, namely "Shaolin heiren", "Shaolin children" and "three Chuang Shaolin". However, he has played a lot of tricks in each film. The eighteen Arhats array in "Shaolin heiren" and the bench array in "three Chuang Shaolin" are particularly classic.
Good at
Tang Jia is good at designing martial arts actions according to the shooting environment and the actors' own conditions. He can not only make Dilong, an actor with a little foundation, play brilliantly, but also make Jason, an actor who can't do martial arts, complete more than 80% of the martial arts actions of the whole play. In the bench fight of three adventures in Shaolin, the Shaolin host played by Jason, who can't do martial arts, is more than ten feet high I played with ER Dongsheng and Bai Biao for more than five minutes. After the decline of martial arts films, Tang Jia turned to TVB as a martial arts director and produced many classic works. In 1992, TVB's first Taiqing drama Grand Canal, which was shot in the mainland, was Tang Jia's martial arts director. Tang Jia's last big screen martial arts directing work was Tsui Hark's green snake. After that, he stopped acting and became his wife's valet.
