Character evaluation
Chen Kexin is one of the indispensable filmmakers in Hong Kong films. What's more, Chen Kexin's real admiration lies in that he is one of the few directors who can make the commercial box office and artistic effects of films win each other. At first sight, his image in the media seems to give people a sense of being plain and indifferent. However, the films he directed are like constantly changing and renovating scenery, or music with multi voice and polyphony. They have always maintained a valuable passion for constantly seeking transformation and innovation. It is undeniable that although Chen Kexin is constantly seeking breakthroughs and changes in the types of films, the emotional theme is his consistent and most handy theme. In more than ten films directed by him, love and being loved, wandering and staying, parting and reunion, choice and being chosen, betrayal and loyalty. These emotional stories, which express rich human nature, happiness or sadness, all reflect delicate and moving texture. (review of Guangming Daily)
Chen Kexin's grasp of the emotion of the work comes from his keen insight and ability to capture information, and the correct choice of theme and the setting of characters show his unique multicultural identity. As a type of many characters, "vagrants" reflect the social reality, human style and family
