Huinan town is a town under the jurisdiction of Pudong New Area in Shanghai. It is located in the east of Shanghai. The center of Huinan town is located at 31 ° 03 'n and 121 ° 45' e. the total area of Huinan town is 65.78 square kilometers. Huinan town is 9 km away from Laogang town in the East, 12 km away from Datun town in the south, 30 km away from Zhoupu town in the northwest, 42 km away from Shanghai People's Square, 8 km north to Shanghai Pudong International Airport, and 28 km south to Luchao port wharf.
In 2014, Huinan town governed 23 communities and 29 villages. With a total population of 213845 (in 2010), there are 18 ethnic minorities including Mongolian and Hui.

History of construction
Huinan town was named after the Baojia system implemented in Nanhui County in 1934. It was named after the Huinan Academy in Huinan town because of the meaning of "benefiting from Nanhui". In 1172, Qiu Chong, the magistrate of Huating County, built Lihutang, which symbolized that Huinan town had become a land before that. In 1386, the construction of Huinan town began. The town is located in the city, the Xiang is located in the east of the city, and the rest is in the countryside, which is under the jurisdiction of Jinshanwei. In the fourth year of Yongzheng (1726) of the Qing Dynasty, Nanhui County was renamed Chengxiang town after it was established in Huinan town. In 1912, Huinan city was a part of Huinan city in Jiangsu Province. In 1929, Nanhui County was officially divided into districts, and Huinan district was under the jurisdiction of Chengxiang District. In 1938, after the Japanese aggressors occupied Nanhui County, Nanhui County was changed into "Nanhui special district of Shanghai", which was divided into districts. Huinan district was a part of Sinan Township, Wangnan Township, Baoshan Township and Wudun Township in the first division. In 1945, the administrative establishment of Nanhui special district was abolished and the establishment before the Anti Japanese war was restored. Huinan town was still under the jurisdiction of Chengxiang District, with Sinan Township, Chengdong Township, Chengxi Township and Chengnan Township. In June 1949, Huinan town was a part of Nanhui District's outer Town, Chengdong Town, Sinan Town, Xuanqiao town and Sanzao Town, with 56 baos and 891 Jias. On April 13, 1984, Huinan people's commune held a people's Congress to establish Huinan Township People's government. In October of the same year, a villagers' meeting was held with the original production teams as the units, and 18 villagers' committees were elected, and the production teams were changed into villages. In 1994, xumiao village, Taoqiao village, Chengnan village and Huinan village were included in Nanhui Industrial Park. In February 1995, with the approval of Shanghai Municipal People's government, the former Huinan town and Huinan Township were abolished and a new Huinan town was established. On May 8, 2003, the former Huanglu town and Huinan town were abolished and the new Huinan town was established.
