According to the Japanese club, Li Mingyang acquired Japanese nationality in May 2012. The CBA said that before Li Mingyang, three male and female basketball players were "naturalized" by the Japanese Basketball Association. However, it is the first time that a female basketball team like Li Mingyang, who is also affiliated to China, left without saying goodbye.
FIBA tickets are not painful
On March 11, 2011, CBA formally sent a letter to CBA to help find Li Mingyang. In its subsequent reply, CBA claimed that there was no information about Li Mingyang's registration in Japan.
In May, the Chinese Basketball Association once again proposed to the Japanese Basketball Association to look for Li Mingyang, but the Japanese Basketball Association did not respond. Coach Guoqing: the black sheep of Chinese basketball
The Li Mingyang incident has aroused much attention and discussion. The Chinese Basketball Association has issued a statement on April 15, denouncing Japan's improper practice and warning domestic clubs against foreign scouts. Li Xin, the coach of the National Youth Women's basketball team, denounced his former disciples as "scum" in his microblog.
"No matter her name is Li Mingyang or some ugly Japanese name, she is a person that thousands of Chinese basketball lovers despise. She doesn't love her motherland and doesn't sweat for her motherland. This is the scum of Chinese basketball!" Li Xin said on Weibo. Li Xin said: "China has cultivated us, and we are going to devote our blood and youth to our motherland. Don't you think it's hurting the feelings of the Chinese people that she went to Japan by such deception! You are still arguing with me for her. You are also playing with the feelings of Chinese people! Please feel your conscience first and then argue with me! "

Join Japanese
Shortly after the 2010 World Youth Championships, Li Mingyang was favored by the club of Xiangsong cosmetics company of Japan, and went to Japan in October of the same year.
In January 2011, Li Mingyang was adopted as an adopted daughter by Minister Minghong Sugiyama of Xiangsong cosmetics company, and changed his name to Miyuki Sugiyama.
In April 2012, Li Mingyang became a Japanese citizen.
In May 2012, Xiangsong cosmetics team formally submitted player login application to Japan basketball association, hoping that Li Mingyang can participate in the Japanese League on behalf of the team.
The process of Japan's "Naturalization" of Li Mingyang was not smooth. Because the CBA determined that Li Mingyang's transfer to Japan does not comply with the relevant regulations of FIBA that players under the age of 18 are not allowed to transfer to foreign countries, the league players landed and refused to go through the formalities for him. The Japanese Basketball Association then appealed to the FIBA. FIBA finally ruled that Li Mingyang has the right to participate in the Japanese League on behalf of Xiangsong cosmetics team, but the condition is that Xiangsong cosmetics team must pay about 2 million yen compensation to CBA. Li Mingyang has passed through Japan, which also means that the naturalization of Li Mingyang by Japanese women's basketball team has been officially achieved.
Li Mingyang is not the first Chinese American basketball player to be naturalized in Japan. In order to improve its weak position in basketball, Japan has absorbed a large number of Chinese naturalized players. The men's basketball team has Qingdao Xin (Wei Xin), Zhang bentianjie (Zhang Tianjie), and the women's basketball team also has the precedents of Chuancun Lisha (Li Shasha) and Tianjin Xi (Zhao Xi).
