Now he is the deputy head of Shanghai Film troupe, and the focus of his work has shifted to the promotion troupe.
Personal experience
Zhang Xiaolin, whose ancestral home is Shandong, was born and raised in Shanghai on November 14, 1960 (September 26, the year of gengzi in the lunar calendar). However, he has the characteristics of Shandong people: tall, straightforward, and his childhood ideal is to be a sports star. In middle school, he was a track and field player in Shanghai, specializing in 110 meter hurdles and winning gold medals in track and field events. However, an unexpected trauma (1979) shattered his dream of being a sports star and forced him to bid farewell to the sports world. Then he transferred from the sports team to Shanghai No.7 wool textile factory as a mechanic and stayed for nearly three years. By chance, he met a student of Shanghai Academy of drama. Inspired by his friend, Zhang Xiaolin entered the examination room of the performance Department of Beijing Film Academy in 1982. However, he passed the exam and was admitted to the film academy with excellent results.
Four years later, with systematic knowledge of film performing arts, Zhang Xiaolin graduated and was assigned to Shanghai Film Studio as an actor. He successively participated in the shooting of "daughter's classic (1986)", "black temptation", "boys and girls", "cruel desire", "Shanghai dancer (up and down)" and other films and TV series such as "Grand Hotel". Especially in the late 1980s, in order to revitalize Shanghai's film and television industry, Shanghai film and television industry launched a number of "Shanghai style" films. Zhang Xiaolin not only had the appearance of Shandong man, but also had the alertness and dexterity of Jiangnan people. Therefore, he naturally became the representative of "Shanghai style" films. For example, he starred in murderer and pianist Liu Ke in the film "cruel desire", and played a brilliant, but not reused, headstrong murderer vividly. This piece of seafood is very strong and is welcomed by the audience. But Zhang Xiaolin's work, which is really called the most outstanding "Shanghai Xiaosheng", is the TV series Grand Hotel, which is full of the flavor of contemporary Shanghai real life. Zhang Xiaolin plays reformer Ding Dawei in the play. His real and delicate performance makes the young, promising and handsome Ding Dawei lively and interesting. From then on, the reputation of "Shanghai style Xiaosheng" spread like wildfire.

personal anecdote
After starring in "Oriental Hotel" and "Shanghai dancer", young actor Zhang Xiaolin has gained great fame. His name and photos appear frequently in various newspapers and magazines, and he is known as a "tough guy with romantic style". Recently, he won the third China Academy of Film Performing Arts Award. At a performance seminar, Zhang Xiaolin made a speech entitled "I hope I'm not a meteor". "In our country, movie actors are probably the most famous industry," he said. Take me as an example. I've only been a filmmaker for four or five years, and I've made nearly ten films. I've won this award and that award, and I've been hailed as a "star.". It's hard to live up to its reputation. I know in my heart that I'm far from the standard of a star. " Indeed, in modern society, especially young people, there is a tendency to worship movie stars, singers and stars. Some people make a few films or sing a few pop songs, and they are praised as stars by fans. As a result, stars on the podium, newspapers, advertising, scenery is very good. Even the clothes and hairstyles of stars are regarded as "fashionable". This reminds us of the story of the French writer dolgilles who played tricks on some "trendsetters". Once, on a whim, he deliberately dipped the donkey's tail in oil paint and daubed it on the canvas. Before the oil painting was dry, he recommended the painting to the exhibition hall in person, and took a serious title for the painting: "twilight in the Gulf of Arya". Some critics have been recommended by well-known experts, and they praise "this is an amazing avant-garde painting". Of course, we have no intention to imply that today's stars are like this "painting". However, stars should be worthy of the name, and they are the cream of talent. They are too many and too numerous to be stars. Combined with his own filming practice, Zhang Xiaolin added: "in recent years, I have starred in several roles in succession, and some of them have caused a lot of repercussions. But when I think about it, I'm deeply disturbed. For an actor who is popular with the audience, it's too difficult to break through himself and blaze a new path with a new image and new performance. Actors, like singers and stars, have not been able to display their talents for a long time. Coupled with fierce competition, they are like a boat fighting in a sea of silver. If they do not advance, they will retreat. Some people are famous for playing several roles. Because they don't respect themselves and love themselves, they are short-lived in their career. Although these people are known as "stars", they are flashy, and the light is not lasting. In fact, they are just transient meteors Zhang Xiaolin sighs that some actors are going abroad to study or make a living. There is nothing wrong with conducting cultural and artistic exchanges and studying abroad. But for an actor, his career must be rooted in his own land in order to blossom. As director Xie Jin said, due to different national conditions, cultural atmosphere, artistic taste and appreciation habits, it is difficult for a Chinese star to shine in foreign film circles. A few years ago, a lot of young actors went to the United States. Some of them are well-known stars. How many of them can have a foothold in Hollywood? "Instead of relying on others outside, it's better to work hard at home. For a young actor, the film and television world of the motherland is the best way to show his talent. " That's what Zhang Xiaolin said and did. Since he starred in "Oriental Hotel" and "Shanghai dancer", he has consecutively contributed many screen and screen images to the audience: police officer in "between life and death", "King Wu of Zhou in" the list of gods ", criminal police captain in" urban criminal police ", and aerospace engineer in" return with the moon " He creates art with full passion and radiates his own light and heat in each work. I hope he is not a fleeting meteor, but a real star.
