Music works
Chen Peixun is full of deep feelings for his motherland. He not only created piano sketches full of national customs such as "selling groceries" and "missing spring", but also wrote profound national details in symphonic poems and symphonies. China's land, culture, history and Chinese spirit are all concentrated in this magnificent picture of "my motherland".
Symphonic Poem "heart wave high -- feeling after reading" Yellow Crane Tower "
the music begins to describe the distant view from the Yellow Crane Tower, but there is a misty rain. Take a close look at the turtle and snake mountains, lock up the river, a beautiful scenery of mountains and rivers, and feel ups and downs. At this point, the music became turbulent like a river and waves. In the climax, the trio of brass music expresses people's anger and hatred towards the evil forces, and their feelings of grief and indignation are high with the tide. The middle part of the music is bright and optimistic, and the mood is constantly rising. It symbolizes that the trend of reform is like the waves on the river, rolling up and down, irresistibly rolling away all the stumbling blocks intended to prevent progress, and rushing forward bravely. The full performance of the band shows a proud and optimistic feeling and a bright future. The end of the music, like a beautiful spring evening scenery, in the quiet picture came the distant bell, full of longing for a better life.
Symphony No.1 my motherland
"My motherland" is a theme that any composer with personality can't forget. The deepest spiritual heritage of a country can only be composed by its own children. Chen Peixun is full of deep feelings for the motherland, concentrating China's land, culture, history and the spiritual integrity of the Chinese people in the first symphony my motherland. "My motherland" is composed of three symphonic poems, originally written in 1960-1964. During the cultural revolution, the total score was lost. In 1976, the first and second movements were rewritten, and in 1989, the third movement was rewritten. The first movement prelude "Ode to snow" and the second movement hero's poem "Loushanguan" all show the magnificent feelings in Chairman Mao's Poems "Qinyuanchun · snow" and "qingpingle · Loushanguan". The third movement "Ballad" reminiscence, prospect and advance "takes a higher vision and mind to recall the history, prospect the future and forge ahead for the motherland. The march in the middle part quotes the mass song" advance under the banner of victory ". Chen Peixun was born in the early 1920s, and his childhood caught up with the difficult times when Chinese people were facing the national survival. During the war of resistance against Japan, like many Chinese people, he fled everywhere to fight against fate. After the war of resisting foreign humiliation ended, there were civil war, war of resisting U.S. aggression and aiding Korea and all kinds of movements, during which there was a turbulent decade of "Cultural Revolution". The creation process of his first symphony my motherland reveals the frustrations of the composer's artistic life: this symphony can be said to be the crystallization of the composer's painstaking efforts. Therefore, it is not difficult to understand that the generation with such rough experience as composers, no matter where they go, always have a hard time to give up their feelings for the motherland; they always consciously or unconsciously associate their own destiny with the destiny of the motherland. In Chen Peixun's works, from the beginning of the first note to the ending of the music, the composer's unswerving patriotism and indomitable national spirit are almost carried out between every note and pause, and the Chinese blood is surging through it. My motherland is a summary of the historical experience of the Chinese people in the 20th century. The last sentence of the music description written by the composer himself is: "may my motherland always be stable and prosperous!" This is a most sincere wish written by a Chinese who has come from the miserable years!
Symphony No.2 Qingming Festival
The cultural revolution is the heaviest page in the history of our nation. It is up to us to reflect on the history of China, to understand the character of the nation and to seek the power of the nation. It can be said that Chen Peixun's second symphony "Qingming Festival" is the best musical work to reflect on the "Cultural Revolution" so far. The second symphony, qingmingji, was composed in 1980. Based on the three poems in Tiananmen poetry in 1976, the work is dedicated to the brave men who died for the truth in the cultural revolution. It expresses the remembrance of the heroic sacrifice of the Chinese people for the truth, and reflects the people's memory of the martyrs. The work is written in a single chapter Sonata structure. The whole piece is divided into three sections, which are played continuously. In 1981, it won the excellent award of the first National Symphony competition, and in 1993, it was selected as the Chinese music classic of the 20th century. the contents of the three consecutive movements are all from Tiananmen Gate poetry, which are: the first movement in front of the martyr's Monument:
In early spring, the cold is strong, and the sorrow is in my heart. The red heart reflects the mountains and rivers, and the blue blood dyes the flag red.
Second movement: dance of loyal Soul:
The sad wind rises from the plain, and the wind falls from the sky. Heroes don't live in their native land, and their courage shines on mountains and rivers.
The third movement is the grand plan of the last wish
Towering green mountains, towering pines and cypresses. His last wish shocked the whole world, and his great ambition ran through the rainbow.
music is rooted in the deepest part of national history and national spirit and integrates the sufferings, ideals and strength of the Chinese people. Every movement starts from adagio, and the mood gradually advances to the climax in the middle, then turns to tranquility and meditation. The structure is tight and the melody is beautiful. The second movement "loyal soul dance" is particularly touching. The whole symphony is magnificent, refreshing and inspiring.
