Lin Cixin

Birth experience

Born in Hong Kong in 1951, Lin Cixin, whose ancestral home is Cixi, Zhejiang, is the fourth generation preacher of his family. He spent the first 14 years of his life on the campus of a godly Seminary. Parents are teachers in seminary and middle school. Their family is not rich, but they must have a special budget to buy fruit every month. Anyway, they also learn piano for children.

In August 1965, he participated in the summer festival, confessed his guilt and repented, and dedicated himself to the Lord, serving the LORD all the time. In the same year, the Lins came to the United States. Lin's father has been studying theology in Whitton, and Lin Tzu Hsin has finished his 10th and 11th year classes in the suburbs of Chicago, equal to grade one and grade two. In 1967, Lin Fu accepted the invitation of the Chinese Church in Philadelphia and went to the pastoral church. It's a church supported by six major sects. During the three years of high school in the United States, I spent part of my time doing work, sometimes delivering goods, sometimes helping in supermarkets, sometimes doing children's counseling in salvation army camps.

He started college in 1968 and went to the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. At that time, Lin realized that in order to serve God, he must receive formal theological training, and the humanities is the best preparation. Therefore, Lin's major in history is actually the history of western philosophy. Graduated in 1971. During the University, I read Dr. Zhang Lisheng's critique of humanism and Xue Hua's evasion of reason, which laid a very important foundation for nursing education. Lin Tzu Hsin knew that the pure confidence he experienced when he was a child could stand the test of reason!

In the summer of 1971, pastor wang Yongxin sent Lin Cixin to Philippine for a short visit. During the 59 days there, I gave the first sermon in my life, the first outdoor sermon, and the first Sutra search in the stock exchange, leaving unforgettable memories.

Theological experience

In the autumn of 1971, he went to Westminster seminary to study reformed theology. The deepest influence of Westminster theology on lincicin is that since Christians are blessed sinners, they should always repent. What's more, the church on earth is what God values. God is the Lord in every aspect of our life, the Bible is our highest criterion, and Van Til's theology of patronage will never be forgotten. In 1970 and 1973, he participated in the student education conference of American Campus Fellowship, held at the University of Illinois.

In 1979, when they were about to graduate, they applied to join the Presbyterian Church of America (PCA). They sent Lin to New York to plant a church. In the southern United States, the church reported. 1986-89 served in the Presbyterian headquarters, mainly looking for the missionaries of Zhi Tang among the Chinese. After leaving the company, he established China vision with Chen Jimin, Liu Shaoping and Mai Yupei.
