Wang long, a native of Jinan, Shandong Province, studied dulcimer with his father Wang Zhenqi at the age of seven, and later studied under Liu dengsen and Zheng Baoheng. In 1987, he was admitted to the attached middle school of China Conservatory of music, and in six years, he received the careful guidance of Mr. Ren Bojie. In 1993, he was admitted to the Department of folk music of the Central Conservatory of music with excellent results. He studied under Professor GUI Xili, minor Guqin and Professor Li Xiangting.
