Growth experience
When he was young, he lived with his parents in the air force in the mountainous area of Western Fujian. After graduating from middle school, he was admitted to Qianfeng song and dance troupe of Fuzhou military region and served as a clarinet player of the orchestra. At the same time, he began to learn harmony and composition from Professor Guo Zurong, composer and educator of Fujian Normal University. In the 1980s, he was admitted to the composing and Directing Department of Shanghai Conservatory of music and studied under the guidance of Yang Liqing, Zhao Xiaosheng and other professors. After graduation, he was assigned to the creation room of Shanghai song and dance ensemble and transferred to the creative studio of Shanghai opera house. In 2000, he was admitted to the Central Conservatory of music and studied for a doctorate in composition and composition technology theory. Liu Yuan has been diligent in composing since he studied composition. He is good at speculation, macro overview, drawing on the strengths of others, and gradually formed his own style in the process of creation. His music is majestic, frank, free and easy, full of deep emotion and unique orchestral technique, which is very infectious.
