Fan XUEDE, a graduate of Jilin University, has published such books as why I don't want to be a Christian and the call of the heart.
Fan Xuede was born in Chinese mainland in 50s. He joined the party at the age of 19. He was admitted to the Department of philosophy of Jilin University in 1978 and the Party School of the CPC Central Committee in 1985 with a master's degree. After many years of teaching philosophy in Liaoning provincial Party School of CPC, he came to the United States in the autumn of 1991. After three and a half years of intense debate with Christians in the church, he believed in Jesus in early 1995 and became a Christian. A year later, he went to Mudi Bible College to study. After graduation, he often preached in North America, Europe, Australia and other places, and engaged in writing at other times. He published more than ten books, including why I don't want to be a Christian, the call of the heart, the mountains and rivers in a dream - Confessions of the red soldier, living in America, and civilization in details - looking for the soul of America.
