Golden pupil is an urban adventure drama produced by iqiyi, directed by Lin Nan, supervised by Tiefo and planned by the third uncle of Nanpai, with Bai Yixiang and Li Liying as chief producers, Zhang yuanang as screenwriter, Zhang Yixing and Wang Zixuan as leading roles, Li Liqun and Han Tongsheng as special guests, Wang Lixin as leading roles, and Chen Weiwen, Meng Asai, Dou Bailin, Zhong Weilun and Gai Yujia as co stars.

Adapted from the novel of the same name, the play tells the story of Zhuang Rui, a clerk working in a pawnbroker, who changes his eyes in an accident, and then embarks on an adventure with the theme of cultural treasure identification.

Synopsis

Zhuang Rui, an ordinary pawnbroker, was suddenly robbed in the middle of the night. He was injured by a piece of broken jade in the process of dealing with the robbers. When he recovered, he found that he had come to the watershed of his life. Zhuang Rui (Zhang Yixing), chosen by fate, has embarked on a legendary adventure since then. On the road of exploring the truth of fate, Zhuang Rui has made continuous efforts and almost reached the peak of his life. During his experiences of gambling in the public market, adventure in the jungle, and St. Petersburg, he has made life and death friends with Huang Fuyun (Wang Lixin), Peng Fei, and others. He has a kind of love affair with policewoman Miao Feifei (Wang Zixuan) and Hong Kong jewelry designer Qin xuanbing. As an archaeological anecdote about 40 years ago is gradually revealed, Zhuang Rui and others have also encountered the pressure and pursuit of hostile forces. Between the choices of life and death, Zhuang Rui never forgets his original intention. While carrying forward traditional culture, Zhuang Rui firmly believes that he will not bow to bad luck. The shooting of "golden pupil" lasted more than five months. It traveled to Beijing, Ukraine, Ruili, Tengchong and Yinchuan in Yunnan Province, involving different scenes such as desert, Gobi desert and Plateau snow mountain. The altitude difference was more than 2000 meters, and the maximum temperature difference was more than 40 degrees. Altitude drop and temperature drop not only bring physical discomfort to the stars and crew members, but also increase the shooting difficulty.

The costumes, roads, scenery and other details of the play are very exquisite and exquisite. The shooting site of tens of thousands of square meters is built to restore the original scene 1:1. It is not only strict to choose the scene, but also pays attention to the reasonable collocation of clothing, light and scene. The clothing modeling fits the character's character, and uses different light with different scenes to further set off the relationship between the characters and the ups and downs of the plot.
