Xu Shijie (1920-1991) was born in Chenghai, Guangdong Province. He joined the Communist Party of China in 1938. He once served as secretary of CPC Chaoshan Railway District Committee, Secretary of chaochengrao County Committee, and Deputy Secretary of chaochengrao sub committee of Chaoshan prefectural committee.
After the founding of the people's Republic of China, he successively served as secretary of the CPC Chenghai county Party committee, deputy director of the Rural Work Department of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, deputy secretary of the Hainan District Party committee, Secretary of the Zhaoqing Prefecture Party committee, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, Secretary of the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee, and director of the Standing Committee of the first Hainan Provincial People's Congress. He is deputy to the 12th CPC National Congress, member of the 13th CPC Central Committee, and deputy to the 6th and 7th National People's Congress. His works include random talks on the mass line, proceeding from reality, poetry anthology wind and rain chant, Liu Song, and Literary Anthology Fengfei anthology. He died in 1991.
