As a classic and quintessence of Chinese musical instruments, the Guqin made by Mr. Wang Peng has played in the Golden Hall of Vienna, Sydney Opera House and other world-famous concert halls.
The Guqin used in the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, the previous Spring Festival Gala of CCTV, the film "Red Cliff" and "Xiaoao Lake" and many other film and television troupes are all made by Wang Peng. Wang Peng has been engaged in the production and research of Guqin for many years. He is the most professional and famous pianqin player in contemporary China.
Attend the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games
"Bird's nest", the music of Beijing Olympic opening ceremony is very Chinese and traditional. The first program of the opening ceremony: the distant sound of guqin, which is quiet and full of atmosphere, seems to come from the distant sky. If you don't listen to it, it's hard for the audience to imagine that the elegant Guqin can perform such a magical effect. Many audiences may not know that the Taigu Yiyin Shikuang guqin, played at the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Games, was composed by Wang Peng, a famous Chinese pianist.
Wang Peng likes music since childhood. After graduating from Shenyang Conservatory of music, he was assigned to Beijing national musical instrument factory. Because of his special love for guqin, Wang Peng devoted all his heart to guqin. Today, Wang Peng's piano making skills are superb, and he has become a famous pianqin master in China. The Guqin made by Wang Peng is in harmony with culture and music theory. It is exquisite and has excellent sound quality. He made the Guqin for the Spring Festival Gala in 2006, the music of the Golden Hall in Vienna and the music Gala in China. The theme music in the popular film "Red Cliff" is also played by the Guqin made by Wang Peng. In addition, the Guqin played by Zhou Yu and Zhuge Liang in the film is also played by Wang Peng.
Wang Peng was not surprised that Guqin could perform for three minutes at the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Games. He said: "guqin music is an important part of China's traditional culture. It is listed as the first of the four arts of" Qin, Qi, calligraphy and painting ". It has a very profound cultural heritage and can best reflect Chinese elements in traditional music." According to Wang Peng, Guqin is known as a living fossil in musical instruments. The Guqin is 3 feet 6 inches 5 long, which means there are 365 days in a year. The face of the instrument represents the sky and the bottom of the instrument represents the earth. This Guqin represents the harmony between heaven, earth and human beings. Guqin is divided into Fuxi, LINGJI, Shennong, Shikuang and other styles. The Guqin performed at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games is the one of the Taigu Yiyin Shikuang ceremony.
Wang Peng recalled that in May, two unexpected visitors came to his juntianqin square, the staff of the directing group of the Olympic Games. The two said that the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games will have a solo performance of guqin, the first of the four arts. They hope to select a Guqin with excellent sound quality in Wang Peng's Piano Workshop. Among the more than ten pieces of guqin, the two finally chose the Shikuang style guqin, which is a archaic musical relic. Wang Peng told reporters: "this Guqin was carefully made by me, which took me two years to select several hundred years old Cunninghamia lanceolata."
Wang Peng was very excited when he saw that his Guqin made by himself could be on the world-famous stage of the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Games: "I'm in a very complicated mood. To tell the truth, I'm very proud. Just like my child was praised by everyone, I feel like I've met Zhiyin from high mountains and flowing water. More importantly, the performance of Guqin makes the whole world feel the profound cultural heritage and splendid civilization of the Chinese nation. "
Character story
The modest and low-key Wang Peng's first words to the reporter were: "I hope you media with a sense of responsibility can join us in the task of saving and protecting Guqin cultural heritage, inheriting and promoting Guqin culture."
In qianyuanshang village, Weishanzhuang Town, Daxing District, Beijing, a quiet and elegant courtyard is well known. That is Wang Peng's Guqin production base - "Juntian square".
"The whole juntianfang is doing heritage protection work." As the "leader" of juntianfang, Wang Peng tells the story of his hard-earned business of piano transmission. In the past 11 years, starting from a Guqin studio, Wang Peng has turned the dream of Qin people into a dream factory: this park of more than 10000 square meters has not only Guqin manufacturing workshops and skilled pianists, but also Guqin decorated rooms, professional Guqin recording studios and concert halls. He has published a large number of books and CDs about guqin, and trained at least 120 students a year.
For the inheritance and protection of intangible cultural heritage, Wang Peng has a unique view, "making the past serve the present, refining the cultural spirit of traditional art, combining it with contemporary life, so as to obtain a broader space for survival and development, is the most effective means in the protection of intangible cultural heritage."
Of course, Qin is the carrier of the cultural spirit of Guqin. Over the years, no matter how busy or tired, Wang Peng has never stopped his piano work. He has successively restored more than 100 historical famous musical instruments, such as the "nine Xiao Ring Pendant" of the Tang Dynasty and the "dragon singing and tiger roaring" of the Song Dynasty. His "four ancient Chinese famous musical instruments" created and restored according to the ancient law are permanently treasured by the National Grand Theater of China.
In Wang Peng's eyes, a small piano contains the Chinese ancients' brilliant understanding of nature, universe and life, and their philosophy of life. In addition to playing the lute in the studio, Wang Peng's daily work is to study the works of the famous ancient instruments in such a traditional atmosphere.
Compared with the "skills" of making and playing the piano, Wang Peng stressed that he should pay more attention to the cultivation of "mental skills". "The combination of mental skills and techniques can make Guqin performance or the life of the Guqin player rise to a higher level." Shan Lianqing, Wang Peng's apprentice, said that in the course of closed Guqin teaching in juntianfang, there are several sections that must be taught by the master himself, focusing on the spiritual connotation of the guqin, which is "remote, moderate, and peaceful".
In recent years, Wang Peng has been persistently holding Guqin promotion meetings, organizing cross-border exchange gatherings, blending traditional aesthetic elements into contemporary life, and creating a space for life aesthetics. He believes that "this can better present the cultural spirit in the space.".
Talking about the future planning of Guqin inheritance, Wang Peng excitedly told reporters that he has two key things to do in the next five years. A "major event" is to build a central axis cultural area with Guqin as the leader around the south central axis road where juntianfang is located. As soon as this concept was put forward, it has attracted the attention of relevant government departments. The Beijing Daxing District government even put forward the slogan of "Daxing guqin, Daxing Guqin". Another "little thing" is to build a Guqin art center including a professional Guqin Concert Hall in the core urban area of Beijing to create a teaching experience aesthetic space combining traditional Chinese culture with contemporary art.
"I'm just an advocate and planner for the first big project, which needs the government to take the lead in its implementation. I can organize the second small project spontaneously with my friends. " Perhaps sensing the surprise on the reporter's face, Wang Peng confidently said, "ten years ago, a Taiwanese zither player heard that my idea of juntianfang was a fantasy. Now he has witnessed the process of realizing his dream. I also hope you can witness my five-year plan.
