Liu Yi (January 25, 1931 - December 25, 2016), formerly known as Wang Ping, is a member of the Communist Party of China (CPC) of Taichung City, Taiwan. Liu Yi, born on January 25, 1931, is from Taichung, Taiwan. Liu Yi grew up in a family with a strong artistic atmosphere. His father, Liu Jintang (also known as Wang Yuezhi), is a famous oil painter and art educator. He graduated from the Western Painting Department of Tokyo Art School in 1921 and was the first painter in Taiwan to study in Japan. He began to practice calligraphy since he was 7 years old. Although he is over 80 years old and has studied calligraphy for more than 70 years, he still keeps on writing. In 2011, Mr. Liu Yi authorized the National Palace Museum in Taipei, and Rong Baozhai wrote the preface and postscript of the cross-strait famous painting "Fuchun Mountain Residence" according to the original 1:1 perfect combination.
