Lin Mei, senior engineer. Male, born in November 1937 in Zhanjiang, Guangdong Province. Member of the Democratic League. He graduated from Beijing Petroleum Institute in 1964.

At present, he is the director of the geophysics Department of the Institute of engineering and earthquake prevention of Guangdong Seismological Bureau, a member of the Seismological Society of China, the Geophysical Society of China, the Seismological Society of Guangdong Province and the Geological Society of China, and a member of the precursory Committee of the first Seismological Society of China. Main achievements: engaged in geophysics, geothermal, geoelectricity, geomagnetism and seismicity, electromagnetic wave, Coda Q value, comprehensive prediction, etc. During the period of working in Yunnan, he managed the monitoring and analysis of earthquake situation and geomagnetic work in Yunnan Province. He has reported strong earthquakes with m ≥ 5 for many times, participated in the summary and Research on large earthquakes and prediction methods in China, and compiled books (the 1976 Longling earthquake). He also cooperated with others to carry out the research on electromagnetic wave anomalies before earthquakes in China earlier, which has made contributions to promoting the research on seismic electromagnetic wave in China. During working in the Seismological Bureau of Guangdong Province, he was engaged in geomagnetic analysis and prediction, earthquake monitoring and seismic science and technology development. It has won 4 third prizes and 1 fourth prize of the Provincial Seismological Bureau, 1 second prize of the China Seismological Bureau and 1 third prize of the Tianjin Seismological Bureau. More than 30 papers have been published.
