Deng Jiandong

Deng Jiandong, born in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, is a Chinese Erhu player and a national first-class performer of the air administration and Arts Troupe.

In 1985, he won the second place in the youth group of the first youth erhu competition in Jiangsu Province; in the same year, his debut work Gusu Chunxiao won the excellent new work Award; in the same year, he took part in the first Beijing erhu Invitational Competition in China and won the first prize. In 1986, he studied in the Music Department of Nanjing Academy of arts without examination and studied under Professor Ma Youde. In 1989, after graduation, he was recruited by the air administration and literary troupe. In 1994, the erhu music "Gusu Chunxiao" and "Wu Ge" won the first prize and the second prize of solo works in the third national orchestral music exhibition respectively, and won the excellent performance award. In 2001, he held erhu solo concert with conductor and composer Liu Wenjin in Wuxi. In 2003, he was the judge of the third "Golden Bell Award" national erhu competition. In 2006, the creation of "grassland charm" (cooperation) won the first prize in the second international huqin Art Festival new works competition.

In January 2008, in cooperation with conductor Peng Jiapeng and Czech National Symphony Orchestra, the erhu solo concert was held in the Golden Hall of Vienna. In 2009, he was the judge of the Seventh National erhu competition of China Music "Golden Bell Award"; in the same year, he was the judge of CCTV national instrumental music competition. In 2010, a special concert of "string song line" was held at Shanghai Concert Hall; in August, a concert was held at the National Grand Theater to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the air administration and cultural troupe. In 2012, he participated in the "top ten young erhu performers' concert" of CCTV music channel. In 2013, he participated in the concert of "famous folk musicians" in Taiwan, China. In 2015, he performed in collaboration with conductor Juan Hommer and BBC Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2019, the launching ceremony and signing meeting of the classic album of Deng Jiandong's Erhu performance and the collection of Deng Jiandong's Erhu performance art were held in Shanghai recently.

Character experience

In 1975, he was admitted to Jiangsu opera school. During that time, he extensively studied local opera, percussion music and Jiangnan folk music. In 1980, after graduation, he became the head of Wuxi opera company in Jiangsu Province.

In 1985, he won the second place in the youth group of the first youth erhu competition of Jiangsu Province; in the same year, his debut work Gusu Chunxiao won the excellent new work Award; in the same year, he won the first prize in the first Beijing erhu Invitational Competition of China, and won two best performance Awards of the required repertoire "Capriccio of the Great Wall" and the optional repertoire "Gusu Chunxiao".

In 1986, he was admitted to the Music Department of Nanjing Academy of Arts. He studied erhu, Jiangnan Sizhu, guqin and composition with Gan Tao, Zhang Rui, min Huifen and Cheng Gongliang.

In 1987, he won the second prize in the first Jiangnan Silk and bamboo competition at home and abroad. In 1989, after graduation, he was recruited by the air administration and literary troupe. In 1994, his erhu songs "Gusu Chunxiao" and "Wu Ge" won the first and second prizes for Solo Works in the third national orchestral music exhibition and won the excellent performance award.

In 1997, erhu song Gusu Chunxiao won the silver wing Award for blue sky literary creation. In 1999, his erhu and string music "Chunxiao" won the third prize for works creation and the second prize for performance in the 7th military literature and art conference.

In May 2001, the erhu solo concert was held in Wuxi Great Hall of the people in cooperation with conductor and composer Liu Wenjin and Jiangsu song and dance theater folk music troupe.

In 2002, he was employed by the Ministry of culture as the judge of the first national musical instrument competition of China Youth Art Competition; in the same year, he served as the judge of the "dragon music Cup" Chinese national musical instrument (erhu) international competition.

In 2003, he was the judge of the third China Music "Golden Bell Award" national erhu competition. At the same time, he also played the final repertoire "Rhapsody of the third and second Hu" and "water".

In 2005, he was the judge of "Zhonglu Cup" international erhu competition. In 2006, he won the first prize in the new works competition of the second China (Xuzhou) International huqin Art Festival.

In 2007, he was the judge of the Sixth National erhu competition of China Music "Golden Bell Award". In January 2008, in cooperation with conductor Peng Jiapeng and Czech National Symphony Orchestra, he held erhu solo concert in the Golden Hall of Vienna, playing Chunxiao, Erquan yingyue, Capriccio of the great wall and other works; in the same year, he was the judge of the national erhu Invitational Competition of "spring of Shanghai"; in the same year, he won the instrumental performance award of the Sixth China Gold Record Award; in April, he joined hands with Zhihua at Poly theatre With the cooperation of Yu Long, the playwright staged the symphony suite Qiao's courtyard.

In May 2012, he participated in the "top ten young erhu performers' concert" of CCTV music channel; in December 2012, he performed at the closing ceremony of 2012 Turkish Chinese culture year in Ankara, Turkey.

In August 2013, he cooperated with conductor Zhang lie and Guangdong National Orchestra to participate in the opening concert of 2013-2014 music season of Guangdong National Orchestra; in September, he participated in the concert of "famous folk musicians" in Taiwan, China; in October, he played "Er Quan Ying Yue" at the opening ceremony of the 9th China Golden Bell Award erhu competition; in December, he participated in the 2014 New Year's concert of China Philharmonic Orchestra at new Tsinghua School Happy club.

In October 2015, he performed in Shanghai Oriental Art Center in cooperation with conductor Juan HOH MENA and BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.

In June 2017, he was elected as an outstanding performer of the sixth Chinese Music Forum at home and abroad; in October, he participated in the Beijing Opera Symphony Concert "Rhine Chinese charm" to celebrate the 45th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Germany in Frankfurt, Germany; in December, he cooperated with conductor Yang Yang to participate in the 2018 Spring Festival Concert in Poly Theater.

In January 2018, he cooperated with the National Orchestra of Tianjin song and dance theatre to participate in the "Jinyun Spring Festival" 2018 Spring Festival Concert at the National Grand Theatre; in February, he performed "hymn" in Hong Kong with the "Spring Festival of all nations" Art Troupe, and then visited overseas Chinese in Britain, France and Italy. In the first July, the program "music life" of CCTV music channel was recorded.

In September, 2019, he will perform in the National Concert "my motherland", which is called "brilliant 70 years, striving for a new era"; in October, the launching ceremony and sales signing meeting of the classic album of Deng Jiandong's Erhu performance and the collection of Deng Jiandong's Erhu performance art will be held in Shanghai recently.

Deng Jiandong's "Qin Yin" is pure and clear in sound quality, sweet and mellow in timbre, and full-fledged in technique.
